My preview for day three of Glorious Goodwood is included below.

Glorious Goodwood 2025 - Day 3 Preview

Race 1 - Kincsem Handicap Tips

There are two each-way contenders that I want to back in Thursday's opener, starting with 14. FORT GEORGE.

Ed Walker's youngster ran well in his three novice starts on the all-weather and made a winning turf and handicap debut in a competitive contest during the Guineas Festival at Newmarket.

Fort George was last seen running here at Goodwood in May, where he was touched off by a neck as Arctic Grey claimed victory and on breeding, the three-year-old should improve for this step up to ten furlongs.

Kieran Shoemark's mount should also deal with a little extra juice in the ground.

10. DAIQUIRI BAY will be stepping back down in trip, having run in the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot.

Alan King's youngster bolted up on his reappearance in a maiden at Chester, before losing out by a neck to the classy Regal Ulixes on his final novice start.

David Egan's mount was held up from the widest draw of all at the Royal meeting and made a decent amount of late progress to finish ninth of 22.

The form of that handicap is working out well already, while Daiquiri Bay should be much happier back on this easier ground.

Race 2 - Richmond Stakes Tips

Clive Cox won the Richmond in 2019 and 2020 with two future Group 1 winners, and on Thursday, he'll be represented by 3. COPPULL.

Coppull stepped up to six furlongs at Royal Ascot, after beating three future winners on debut at Leicester and Probert's mount broke well and led the group on the stand's side of the track.

Gstaad eventually took off down the centre, but Coppull - despite lugging left - stayed on well to finish a neck behind Do Or Do Not in third.

The Coventry is usually the strongest juvenile race for colts at Royal Ascot and the form of this year's renewal looks decent.

Coppull's dam dealt with juice in the ground and Bated Breath has produced plenty of top juveniles.

Race 3 - Gordon Stakes Tips

2. MERCHANT is a deserving favourite, with the form of his Royal Ascot win having been boosted in the Irish Derby.

William Haggas' star ran out an impressive winner over Rahiebb in a handicap at York and was backed into favouritism for the King George V Handicap on the day of the race.

Tom Marquand gave his mount a patient ride, but made stealthy progress turning into the straight and flew home to beat Serious Contender by a length.

The runner-up was then only beaten a neck by Lambourn in the Irish Derby, running up to an RPR of 117.

Merchant seems open to a similar amount of improvement and front-runners like Galveston and Sir Dinadan should set the race up perfectly for the fast-finishing favourite.

Race 4 - Nassau Stakes Tips

See The Fire is a fantastic mare, with Andrew Balding's star having blitzed her rivals in the Middleton Stakes and ran a great race when third against the colts in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes, where Oisin Murphy had to take the braveman's route down the inside rail.

See The Fire's late challenge from the rear came up a neck short of Opera Singer 12 months ago and Balding has said a few times that this has been her main target, however, thunderstorms have been forecast for Thursday and the prospect of rain-softened ground will suit Aidan O'Brien's pair, both of whom will be getting nine pounds from the second-favourite.

Bedtime Story is progressing nicely and the track at Goodwood should suit, but Ryan Moore has opted to stay with 5. WHIRL, who should prove difficult to pass.

I backed Whirl in the Epsom Oaks and was gutted when Minnie Hauk stuck her neck out to land that Classic.

Ryan Moore's mount then looked likely to be passed by Kalpana in the Pretty Polly Stakes, but Whirl found plenty for pressure along the rail and kicked a length clear of her rival in the closing stages.

Moore had made all to win the Nassau on a couple of occasions and he'll attempt to execute similar tactics on Thursday.

Whirl won a Group 3 on soft ground in the autumn and the form of both the Epsom Oaks and the Pretty Polly has been boosted.

Race 5 - Buccellati Handicap Tips

The last nine winners of this handicap sprint have all returned a single-figure price.

Shagraan triumphed 12 months ago and 5. NAD ALSHIBA GREEN looks to have a big chance for the same connections.

Mick Appleby's filly has raced solely over the minimum distance this term, having tried six furlongs a couple of times as a juvenile and following placed efforts at Thirsk and Nottingham, Nad Alshiba Green ran out a ready winner of a Class 4 back at Nottingham in June before being thrust into better company at Sandown earlier this month.

Rossa Ryan's mount sat last for much of that contest, but picked up well when angled out and her late challenge came up less than a length short of a very talented winner in Kassaya.

A three-pound rise for that effort doesn't seem overly harsh and Rossa Ryan will be pleased with his drawn in stall five.
