Kingsford-Smith Cup History
The Kingsford-Smith Cup was formerly known as the BTC Cup with the race name changed in 2017.
From 2006, the race was known as a Group One and from 1991 to 2016, the sprint was always over 1200m.
In 2017 when Eagle Farm was going through renovations, the race changed to 1300m which is the distance we see it over today.
Legendary mare Black Caviar was a champion of this event, taking the race out in 2011.
