Vinery Stud Stakes History
First run in 1979 and gaining group one status in 1993 is the Vinery Stud Stakes which is run over ten furlongs for the three-year-old fillies and is a key lead-up race for the Australian Oaks.
This was evident in 2019 with Verry Elleegant completing the Vinery Stud Stakes and Australian Oaks double and as can be the case with fillies staying events, form and class runners come to the fore due to generally a lack of depth within the distance ranks.
The Vinery Stud Stakes is registered as the Storm Queen Stakes who was dominant juvenile in 1966 and was trained by the legendary Bart Cummings.
