Depending on the race day you may need to have pre-purchased your ticket to get into an Australian racecourse. Unless it's a specialty day where there is a chance that the meeting could sell out you'll need to pre-purchase your tickets, otherwise you can walk in and grab one at the gate.

Can I take food into Australian racecourses?

Most major Australian tracks allow you to take food items through the gates to consume on course. It is always best to double check with the specific race club, but the majority of race courses will permit food.

Can I take alcohol into Australian racecourses?

Unless it is a specialty event almost every Australian racecourse as a strict no BYO policy. This means you are not permitted to take alcohol onto race course grounds.

Is there a dress code to get into Australian racecourses?
