Sha Tin Racecourse Tips & Latest News

4888 Showlhs N
Sha Tin is the centrepiece of Hong Kong racing, with the expansive New Territories venue hosting the majority of the city's major races and providing a very different test to the tighter Happy Valley circuit.

Two racing surfaces form an important part of the Sha Tin program. Major races are staged on the turf course, while the All Weather Track is incorporated into many regular cards, meaning the HKJC designates a large number of meetings as Mixed rather than simply Turf.

Sha Tin also stages dedicated All Weather Track night meetings, rather than limiting racing under lights to Happy Valley. For example, the HKJC calendar has Wednesday, October 28, 2026 as Night / All Weather, while the regular Sunday meetings around it are predominantly Day / Turf or Day / Mixed.

The feature calendar is among the strongest anywhere in Asia, highlighted by the Hong Kong International Races in December, Stewards' Cup, Hong Kong Gold Cup, Hong Kong Derby, Champions Day and Champions & Chater Cup.

Whether you're looking for race dates, betting tips, form guides, fields, race previews, results or the latest Hong Kong horse racing news, you'll find everything you need for Sha Tin race meetings right here.
