The 2026 Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill presents an exciting lineup as three-year-old fillies prepare for their 2000-meter challenge, acting as a precursor to the Australian Oaks. The race sees New Zealand filly Ohope Wins, on a winning streak and under the guidance of famed trainer Chris Waller, leading the betting market. Despite her wide draw, her consistent performance makes her a favorite. Meanwhile, Long Legs, with a favorable barrier position, offers a value betting option. Salty Pearl and Belle Cheval are also strong on form charts, promising intense competition.

Rosehill hosts a strong Group 1 program on Saturday, March 28, headlined by the Vinery Stud Stakes and Tancred Stakes as key autumn targets begin to take shape.

The Vinery sees the three-year-old fillies step out to 2000m as a key lead-in to the Australian Oaks, while the Tancred brings together a quality staying field over 2400m.

For the 2026 Vinery Stud Stakes, Ohope Wins heads a competitive market, currently priced at $3.10 with Picklebet.

2026 Vinery Stud Stakes Tips

It’s a really competitive edition of the Vinery Stud Stakes as the fillies stretch out to 2000m.

From what we’ve seen of the Australian chances, Panova looks to be crying out for this trip off her chasing effort last start behind Sixties, although she is untried at the distance.

Salty Pearl is as honest as they come and capitalised on strong form lines when bolting in at Caulfield a fortnight ago, and while this is tougher, the grey gives the impression she can hold her form deep into the prep and 2000m should be okay.

The two fighting for favouritism are Ohope Wins and Belle Cheval, both New Zealand fillies on Australian debut.

Ohope Wins, now with Chris Waller, is a daughter of Ocean Park who brings in a hat-trick including a stylish New Zealand Oaks win, and while the wide draw could be a query at Rosehill, it shouldn’t be an issue for her racing pattern.

Belle Cheval has been strong in her two runs this prep before nearly knocking off a smart Well Written last time, and now steps up to 2000m for the first time.

The last three winners of the Vinery Stud Stakes have all been popular favourites, and two of those have been last-start Group 1 winners in New Zealand.

Of the longer-priced chances, Long Legs maps to get favours as the likely leader from barrier one, and while she’s been a touch one-paced this prep, getting to 2000m now looks ideal.

The booking of an aggressive Nash Rawiller should see her ridden positively, and he’s a strong rider who often gets the best out of these types.

The rest are at longer odds, including Stand My Ground who could well go around as the despised outsider of the field.

But she does look a filly with a future, albeit this is aggressive placement, and was well found in the market when winning first-up at Newcastle while also showing enough on debut.

There’s plenty upside with her and she’s perhaps your bolter for the multiples.

2026 Vinery Stud Stakes Best Bet - Ohope Wins

Ohope Wins brings a strong staying profile into this race and drops back slightly in trip.

This could be more of a clean-up run with the Australian Oaks perhaps where she’s suited best over further and on the bigger surrounds of Royal Randwick, but her class still has to be respected here.

In what shapes as an open race, she goes on top.

2026 Vinery Stud Stakes Value Bet - Long Legs

Long Legs maps to control the race from barrier one and could give a sight at odds.

She’s been a little one-paced this preparation, but getting to 2000 metres now looks key.

The booking of an aggressive Nash Rawiller suggests intent to roll forward and control the race, and at a price, she’s the one that could take catching if left alone in front.
