A-League 2026/27 Betting Odds - Who will win this season's A-League?

Newcastle Jets, Sydney FC and Auckland FC have all opened as $5.50 equal favourites, while Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory are immediately behind them at $6.00.

The markets become more revealing when looking beyond the championship price. Auckland are clear favourites to finish as Minor Premiers, while the Top 6 market suggests five clubs are expected to have a considerable advantage in the race for finals football. At the other end of the table, Central Coast Mariners have been installed as the leading Wooden Spoon contender.

There is no dominant favourite in the Grand Final Winner market, with five clubs priced between $5.50 and $6.00. Newcastle, Sydney and Auckland share favouritism at $5.50, but Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory are only marginally longer at $6.00.

Macarthur represent the next line of betting at $9.00 before a noticeable jump to Western Sydney Wanderers and Adelaide United at $13.00. That pricing creates a relatively clear top six in the outright market, with Wellington ($17.00) and Perth ($19.00) sitting outside the main group.

Central Coast and Brisbane are the biggest outsiders at $26.00, highlighting the sizeable gap between the market's leading championship contenders and the two teams at the bottom of the outright betting.

Auckland's standing in the Minor Premiership market is particularly interesting. While they share Grand Final favouritism at $5.50, they are outright favourites at $4.20 to finish the regular season on top.

Melbourne City and Sydney are next at $4.50, followed by Newcastle at $5.00 and Melbourne Victory at $5.50. The significant move comes after Victory, with Macarthur jumping to $11.00.

That suggests the market sees five particularly strong contenders for first place across the regular season. Central Coast are the clear outsiders at $51.00, considerably longer than Brisbane and Perth at $34.00.

The Top 6 market provides perhaps the clearest indication of how the early betting market expects the ladder to take shape.

Auckland and Sydney are both just $1.07 to make the finals, with Melbourne City ($1.10), Melbourne Victory ($1.12) and Newcastle ($1.25) also at short prices. The market therefore views those five teams as strong prospects to occupy five of the six finals positions.

That potentially leaves a much more competitive battle for the remaining place. Macarthur are $2.00, while Adelaide and Western Sydney are both $2.50. Wellington are the next team at $5.00 before prices move to $7.00 for Perth and Brisbane and $9.00 for Central Coast.

Central Coast's $3.00 price makes them the early favourite to finish last, which is consistent with their position as the longest-priced team in both the Grand Final and Minor Premiership markets.

Perth and Brisbane are the next two teams at $4.00, with Wellington at $5.00. There is then a substantial gap to Adelaide and Western Sydney at $11.00, reinforcing the market's expectation that the Wooden Spoon battle is most likely to involve the Mariners, Glory, Roar and Phoenix.

At the opposite end, Auckland are $81.00 to finish last, while Sydney and Melbourne City are both $67.00. Combined with their short Top 6 prices and positions near the top of the outright markets, the odds indicate that those three clubs are among the teams the market expects to be challenging towards the top of the ladder rather than the bottom.
