Notable selections include 'Sing Us A Song' for the Coral Handicap and 'Dickensian' for the Molecomb Stakes, both expected to perform well based on past performances. 'Carl Spackler' is tipped as an interesting each-way bet in the Sussex Stakes, while 'Power Of Destiny' is highlighted for the Fillies’ Handicap. My selections for day two of Glorious Goodwood are detailed below.

Glorious Goodwood 2025 - Day 2 Preview

Race 1 - Coral Handicap Tips

I'm finding it hard to look past 2. SING US A SONG in Wednesday's opener.

Ralph Beckett's colt ended his juvenile season with a heavy-ground win here at Goodwood before opening his three-year-old account with an impressive handicap triumph at Sandown.

Sing Us A Song was fancied going into the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot, but was slowly away after getting upset in the stalls and could only stay on to finish ninth.

James Doyle's mount remains on the same mark and a much-improved performance is expected from this talented son of Camelot.

Race 2 - Oak Tree Stakes Tips

4. FAIR ANGELICA can be a little in-and-out, but this quick turnaround suggests that Richard Hughes' filly has come out of the Hackwood in good shape.

Finley Marsh's mount finished last on her reappearance in the Chartwell Fillies' Stakes, and in the Chipchase at Newcastle. In-between, Fair Angelica has won the Cathedral Stakes from the front, and stayed on from off the pace to finish a close fourth behind Rage Of Bamby at Newbury 11 days ago.

Hughes' four-year-old boasts winning form around turning, right-handed tracks and went close when second on her only previous start around Goodwood.

She seems overpriced to me at 16s.

Race 3 - Molecomb Stakes Tips

Ger Lyon's record of just two winners from his last 79 runners in the UK is enough to persuade me to side against hot-favourite Lady Iman.

2. DICKENSIAN is drawing my eye, following an excellent showing at Royal Ascot.

A clear-cut winner at Musselburgh on debut, Kevin Ryan's juvenile was far too keen when finishing sixth in a good race at Ascot in April.

Shane Gray's mount settled better at the Royal Meeting, and it was only a flying finish from Havan Hurricane which stopped him from winning the Windsor Castle Stakes.

A wide-ish draw in stall six should be fine and Kevin Ryan's horses have been going well of late.

Dickensian has a chance in an open-looking renewal.

Race 4 - Sussex Stakes Tips

Field Of Gold is going to be extremely hard to beat, with William Buick's mount was far too good for Henri Matisse at Royal Ascot and I can't see that form being turned around.

Rosallion and the other older horses will have to give the hot-favourite eight pounds at the weights, making what already seemed a difficult task close to impossible.

That being said, I've got no interest in backing any horse at 2/5 and instead, I'll have a speculative each-way wager on 1. CARL SPACKLER, who was one of the top milers around turning tracks in America.

Ciaran Maher's recruit won three Group 1's on US soil, ending his time with Chad Brown with an emphatic victory in the Maker's Mark Mile at Keeneland.

Carl Spackler was having his first start on a straight track in the Queen Anne Stakes and failed to settle behind a fairly slow pace, eventually finishing a little one-paced back in fifth as Docklands and Rosallion fought out the finish.

While all the tracks he raced on in the US were left-handed, moving back to a turning track should aid Carl Spackler's challenge.

Maher's five-year-old has had an extra month to acclimatise in the UK and Shane Foley's mount is entitled to improve for that run at Royal Ascot.

Race 5 - Fillies' Handicap Tips

Ralph Beckett boasts a fantastic recent record in this handicap and I'm hopeful of a return to form for 5. POWER OF DESTINY

Beckett's filly reached a mark of 93 following a handicap win at Kempton in November.

Power Of Destiny then went close in the Winter Oaks Fillies' Handicap at Lingfield, but has struggled on her three starts since then, with all three coming in extremely competitive races.

Richard Kingscote's mount was only beaten a neck in this race 12 months ago and returns to Goodwood just three pounds higher in the handicap.
