Belmont Roughie Tip
Belmont Roughie - Race 5 No. 1 Kisses From Kelly
With no prior first-up victories and nothing expected as an outsider, his July 5 return was a pass mark, where Kisses From Kelly was doing his best work late.
There's more in his favour here, with a switch to Belmont a positive (four wins and three placings from eight starts here), while he's adept on good and wet ground.
Kisses From Kelly has never finished out of the money in five second-up aruns, which includes a runner-up finish last winter and a win last campaign.
While his last four wins have come over staying trips, he's generally thereabouts at a mile and there isn't much depth to this 66+ field.
Caulfield Roughie Tip
Caulfield Roughie - Race 6 No. 10 Delicate Lady
A handy McKeyla (Group placed) got the better of Delicate Lady on debut and at start two, she was third in a maiden taken out by Gala Queen (sListed winner).
Star Rapper (second) was a six-length winner last month, while Delicate Lady resumed with a slick maiden performance of her own on July 13.
There was a touch of arrogance to that recent success, where the three-year-old pulled away comfortably despite covering ground on a Heavy 8 surface.
That Bendigo maiden rated well for the class/meeting and while it's a competitive metro event, Delicate Lady is against her own age and sex here.
Doomben Roughie Tip
Doomben Roughie - Race 7 No. 6 Don't Stop
This is the weakest race that he's contested in 2025, with Don't Stop having completed four starts over a spaced out prep this year and he's often produced fresh.
The veteran outperformed a huge starting price last time when fourth in the Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich and the gelding recorded the fastest last 400m of that Listed event.
That Ipswich form has stood up strongly, with first and third filling the quinella of the Listed Glasshouse Handicap at the Sunshine Coast.
The runner-up (Sha Of Gomer) won his next two, including the Listed Ramornie Handicap, while Don't Stop is well to a BM85 with 56kg after the claim.
Morphettville Roughie Tip
Morphettville Roughie - Race 9 No. 9 Blanc Visage
The penny started to drop in her third campaign, with wins recorded early in the prep and at the back-end, while the latest was a comfortable one on a Soft 6 at Oakbank.
She rounded out her autumn with a competitive metro effort on The Goodwood program, where Blanc Visage was held-up before working home on the inferior ground.
The daughter of Pariah was a single figure quote fresh via a slightly stronger race than this and she was hard to miss late when rattling home at Murray Bridge.
Blanc Visage arrived to her July 12 resumption off a strong trial win and with a few more favours second-up from a kinder draw, she's right in this.
Randwick Roughie Tip
Randwick Roughie - Race 10 No. 8 I've Bean Tryin'
He hasn't been the easiest horse to catch over the journey, especially since his rating has lifted into the 70's, but I've Bean Tryin' has his fair share of ability.
The 2023 Barn Dance winner has 3kg claimer Coriah Keatings back in the saddle and especially now that he's fit from a low draw, we want to see a more positive ride.
I've Bean Tryin' was strong past the line second-up over 1500m and he was then completely unsuited by the race shape over 1600m here a fortnight ago.
He's building towards a peak and the six-year-old will handle whatever the surface throws up, with decent good track stats and a strong heavy record.
