As the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches, Australia's Socceroos are tipped for a strong campaign. Key future bets include Mo Toure as top team scorer at great value, backing the team to qualify from a balanced Group D, and predicting a potential Round of 16 exit if matched with reigning champions Argentina. With new squad talents and an expanded 48-nation format, the Socceroos have better odds to advance, making these futures worth considering for fans and punters.

  • Socceroos futures predictions for the 2026 FIFA World Cup
  • Australia backed to emerge from Group D - value on R16 finish
  • Mo Toure great value to score the most goals as starting striker

It's almost time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and we've picked out the best Futures tips to be backing for Australia's upcoming campaign across North America.

The Socceroos are competing at the World Cup for the sixth straight tournament and will be looking to replicate their memorable tournaments from 2006 and 2022, where they advanced out of the group and into the R16.

This will be the first World Cup in the expanded 48-nation format, meaning the third-placed teams from some groups will qualify for the Round of 32.

We're expecting more futures markets to be rolled out closer to the tournament and once the Socceroos squad is officially finalised on June 1, but for now we've found some good value bets to get behind ahead of the tournament.

Socceroos World Cup Top Team Scorer Tips

Absolutely loving the value on Mo Toure here.

The 22-year-old has shot to prominence over the last 12 months and I think he's a certain starter up front. The $9.00 on offer with Dabble is crazy value for a starting striker to be the team top scorer.

Toure joined English Championship club Norwich City in the January transfer window from Randers and made an immediate impact, registering 12 goal involvements in just 11 games - and that's with a month-long injury layoff too.

Ending the season with five goals in his last four appearances for Norwich, Toure is in electric form and will be confident as he looks to add to his two Socceroos goals from five outings.

Nestory Irankunda is also good value at $9.00 with five goals from 13 senior Australian games and might be worth a crack, but he will be on the wing and could be a good assist option if the market ever releases.

But Toure is the clear play here - can't believe he's priced behind players such as Mitch Duke, Adam Taggart and Martin Boyle, who all likely won't be in the starting side.

Socceroos World Cup: To Qualify From Group Tips

Call it national bias and faith, but you've got to get behind the Socceroos - even if our style of play under Tony Popovic is incredibly bland and doesn't inspire too much confidence.

But the fact remains - Australia have landed in a favourable Group D alongside USA, Paraguay and Turkey. I'd argue that every single team has equal chance to finish both top and bottom of this group ahead of the tournament.

With three nations possibly advancing, the odds are in the Socceroo's favour here. Simply one win over any side could be enough, while four points almost certainly gets the job done. This is a better side (on paper) than the team that qualified from the group at the 2022 World Cup and that side had to deal with the likes of France and Denmark.

With the likes of Toure, Irankunda, Jordy Bos, Riley McGree and Alessandro Circati playing some brilliant football in top leagues across Europe, I'm liking the even money on offer for the Socceroos to emerge from Group D.

Socceroos World Cup Stage of Elimination Tips

Which leads us to another value play.

If the Socceroos finish second in the group - like they did in 2006 and 2022 - then they would play the Runner-up of Group G, which would be one of Belgium, Egypt, Iran and New Zealand.

We can assume that Belgium should be topping that group, which leaves Egypt - led by Mo Salah and Omar Marmoush - Iran, who famously broke Australian hearts in 1998 qualifying and rivals New Zealand, who the Socceroos beat easily in two friendlies last year.

I'd be confident of the Socceroos taking care of business in any of those potential fixtures, which would see progression into the R16 - and a likely showdown with reigning champions Argentina.

That would be a repeat of the 2022 Round of 16, where Garang Kuol famously forced a world class save from goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez in the dying stages to stop extra-time, with the Socceroos going down 2-1.

Safe to say Australia would be massive underdogs in that potential encounter, so a R16 elimination at odds of $8.00 appeals.
