Kylian Mbappe - France ($7.00)
Mbappe is favourite and for good reason - he's starting striker for a France side who are a top two favourite at Australia's best bookmakers to go all the way and win the World Cup.
And all that aside, Mbappe is simply a goalscoring freak. The 27-year-old secured the Golden Boot at the 2022 World Cup with eight goals and he's coming off another prolific domestic campaign, scoring 25 goals in just 31 appearances for Real Madrid in La Liga.
Mbappe also lit up the Champions League, despite Real Madrid exiting in the quarter-finals, topping the goalscoring charts with 15 in just 11 outings.
The only downside backing Mbappe is the sheer attacking quality on hand for the French - the likes of Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembele, Rayan Cherki, Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola are all capable of big tournaments, so the goals might be shared around.
But, at the end of the day, Mbappe is guaranteed to start and France are backed to go deep - barring injury or suspension, he'll be right there in the mix once again.
Harry Kane - England ($8.00)
You just can't leave Kane out of any goalscoring best bets.
The England No. 9 enjoyed a career-best season with Bayern Munich this past season, scoring an insane 36 goals from just 31 appearances in the Bundesliga - almost double the next best.
Kane also finished with the second-most goals in the Champions League behind Mbappe, finding the back of the net 14 times in 13 fixtures.
The 32-year-old won the Golden Boot in 2018 and with England landing in a favorable group consisting of an aging Croatia, an erratic Ghana and minnows Panama, Kane could even equal his 2018 tally of six goals before the knockout phase.
Kane flat-track bullying his way to goals against the weaker nations before going quiet against the elite teams is a common theme, but something that could pay dividends here.
Mikel Oyarzabal - Spain ($21)
Lamine Yamal is around the same price at most bookies, but I much prefer to have a small stake on the starting striker in Oyarzabal, who has been banging in the goals for his country in recent times.
The Real Sociedad frontman averaged a goal every 74 minutes in World Cup qualifying and was on hand to score the winner in the 2024 European final, proving he won't go missing on the big stage.
Playing in front of arguably the world's best midfield and with Yamal flying down the flanks and providing pin-point assists in his direction, Oyarzabal is going to receive plenty of service this tournament.
He will take the penalties and with group games against the likes of Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde, the 29-year-old should be set for another prolific tournament.
Julian Alvarez - Argentina ($31)
Alvarez represents a fantastic value bet here.
The 26-year-old is in the prime of his career and is set to start in the Argentina attack as the South American nation look to make it back-to-back World Cup triumphs.
Alvarez scored a very handy 10 goals from 15 appearances for Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this season, proving he can make an impact in the biggest games.
Lionel Messi is just incredibly overpriced at $11 due to his name and pedigree - Alvarez is far better value and should get plenty of opportunities in a group featuring Austria, Algeria and Jordan.
