The Victoria Derby is one of the great staying tests for three-year-olds and returns to Flemington on Saturday, October 31, with the Group 1 classic contested over 2500m at set weights.
Lepolo has surged to the top of the market at $5 with BetRight after an impressive win over 1500m at Sandown Hillside on September 5.
The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained colt settled just off the speed before powering clear late to defeat Cignetti by 3.5 lengths, prompting connections to keep the Victoria Derby firmly in play.
His next target is expected to be the Stutt Stakes over 1600m, with the Derby path to remain open as he continues to step up in distance.
Stormy Marco and Tron Bolt share the second line of betting at $8.
Tron Bolt brings the strongest exposed Group 1 form of the pair after winning the J J Atkins Stakes over 1600m at Eagle Farm during the winter.
The Chris Waller-trained colt showed a strong turn of foot and a relaxed racing style in that victory, traits that should help as he progresses towards the longer three-year-old features.
Stormy Marco also comes through the J J Atkins form line, having finished third behind Tron Bolt and Cormier in the Group 1 feature.

Victoria Derby History
A cornerstone of Melbourne racing, the Victoria Derby was first contested in 1855, when Rose Of May claimed the inaugural edition.
