Enchilada shares favouritism with True Rebel in the latest betting for the 2026 Victoria Derby, while Vallice, King Snitz and Cignetti are close behind following Saturday's Caulfield Classic, with the $3 million Group 1 feature to be run over 2500m at Flemington on October 31.
Enchilada is the $6 equal favourite with BetRight after an impressive seven-length maiden victory over 1700m at Warrnambool on October 1. The Patrick Payne-trained Pierro colt overcame a slow beginning before racing clear on a Soft 7 track, and is entered for Wednesday's Listed Geelong Classic over 2200m, his final opportunity to gain further staying experience before the Derby.
True Rebel also sits at $6 after finishing second to Mister Whiskers in a 1600m benchmark race at Caulfield on October 14, beaten a short neck. The Danny O'Brien-trained colt had previously won his maiden at Geelong and is another expected to appreciate the step up in distance, having finished second at his latest start under Billy Egan.
Vallice is next at $8 following his narrow second to King Snitz in Saturday's Group 3 Caulfield Classic over 2000m, beaten just 0.1 lengths under Mark Zahra. The Ciaron Maher-trained colt had also finished runner-up to Miss Waititi in the Listed Super Impose Stakes over 1800m at Flemington, giving him consecutive stakes placings heading towards the Derby.
King Snitz shares the $9 quote after causing a $16 upset in the Caulfield Classic, defeating Vallice by a nose with Cignetti another short head away in third. The Shane Jackson-trained Snitzel colt was having just his fourth start and recorded his second victory, with Damian Lane producing a well-timed ride to secure the trainer's first stakes success.
Cignetti is also $9 after finishing third in the Caulfield Classic, beaten just 0.2 lengths in a three-way finish. The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained gelding had previously finished third in the Super Impose Stakes at Flemington and now has consecutive placings over 1800m and 2000m ahead of his first attempt at 2500m.
Wednesday's Geelong Classic provides Enchilada with another Derby lead-up, while True Rebel is coming off a narrow defeat at Caulfield and the other three leading contenders were separated by just 0.2 lengths in Saturday's Caulfield Classic.

Victoria Derby History
A cornerstone of Melbourne racing, the Victoria Derby was first contested in 1855, when Rose Of May claimed the inaugural edition.
Run over 2500m at Flemington for three-year-olds, the race has built one of the richest histories in Australian racing and remains a major feature on the opening day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Its honour roll includes some of the great names of the turf, with Phar Lap winning in 1929 and Dulcify successful in 1978, while more recent winners have included several horses who went on to further success domestically and abroad.
The Victoria Derby is worth $2 million and continues to attract a deep field each spring, with its set-weight conditions and demanding distance providing one of the sternest staying tests for three-year-olds in the country.
The most recent winners are Riff Rocket in 2023, Goldrush Guru in 2024 and Observer, who claimed the 2025 edition.
