The Rosehill meeting on August 30 delivered a number of eye-catching performances.

Our latest Rosehill Blackbookers highlight the horses that shaped as ones to follow into the spring carnival.

Rosehill Blackbookers - Saturday, August 30

Race 4 - Seven’s (4th): He showed promise in three runs during his first Australian prep and built on that with a strong first-up victory at Canterbury over 1550m.

Staying under a mile worked against him here, where he was finding the line strongly at the end of this 1500m contest.

A dual winner in France at 2000m and 2100m, Seven's looks ready to progress once he gets to those longer distances in Sydney.

With a low rating providing some flexibility for placement, he shapes as a middle-distance/staying type who can work his way through the lower grades.
Race 9 - Half Yours (5th): It wasn’t a winning set-up for Half Yours, dropping back to 1500m while still on the fresh side, but he did more than enough to suggest he’s in for another strong campaign.

The progressive galloper had never finished outside the top two in his five prior runs for the McEvoy stable, and his chasing effort here was full of merit.

Importantly, he blew the cobwebs off with that return and reminded punters of his staying credentials, having claimed a 2400m Listed victory on July 5 before the freshen.

Half Yours looks set to hit his straps again once he steps back out to middle-distance and staying trips.
Race 10 - Disneck (6th): He has returned with a pair of sixth-place finishes this campaign, but those results don’t tell the full story.

Disneck impressed fresh when closing strongly, and second-up over 1200m here, he was badly held up at a crucial stage and with clear running, he probably wins.

The penny dropped last season and he looks to have carried that improvement into this spring.

There’s a good race in him once things fall into place, and he’s one to stick with over the carnival.
