After rounding out his spring campaign with a comfortable Group 3 victory in the Spring Stakes at Newcastle, Green Spaces has flourished over longer distances in 2026.
He was well held over 1400m and 1600m at his first two runs back, but getting out to 2000m saw the Godolphin youngster improve sharply when runner-up in the Rosehill Guineas, before an easy Australian Derby triumph followed.
At $8 with Unibet Australia, Green Spaces is the favourite to win The Metropolitan in 2026.
Sharing an $11 quote are Alalcance, Royal Supremacy and Soul Of Spain, three gallopers who have all shown promise throughout the season.
Alalcance found form with back-to-back victories in Queensland, the latest a dominant 3200m Brisbane Cup success, while Royal Supremacy also saluted on the June 13 program via the Q22.
Royal Supremacy also won The Metropolitan in 2025 before recording a competitive fifth-place finish in the Caulfield Cup.
Soul Of Spain hasn't won this year, but he has still managed runner-up finishes in both the Sky High Stakes and Sydney Cup, while he defeated Royal Supremacy in the Newcastle Cup last September before that rival turned the tables in The Metropolitan.
