Her tenth-of-twelve finish at Ascot last time was far better than it reads, with the five-year-old completely unsuited when forced to settle back in an on-speed dominated race.

Doomben Roughie - Race 6 No. 1 Earl Of Bantry

Earl Of Bantry was flying before joining the Ciaron Maher stable, winning five of seven starts under Cameron Crockett.

That run included a spring double and a $500,000 Four Pillars victory, where he accounted for Sonofdec in strong fashion.

His Magic Millions Day run can be forgiven after drawing wide, settling back against his preferred on-speed pattern, and being ridden conservatively.

With that run under his belt, he profiles to improve sharply third-up if afforded more favourable conditions.

Morphettville Roughie - Race 9 No. 10 Invertational

If Invertational is to strike in Adelaide, it shapes as most likely early in a preparation where she has historically produced her best work.

Her two runs for the Will Clarken yard this time in have been sound without threatening, but her strongest performance for the stable clearly came fresh.

The mare resumes here off two jump-outs, bolting in during the latest, which suggests she has returned in good order.

Her last win was a first-up defeat of Danny’s St Darci, who was Group placed at her next two starts and won at Listed level later that preparation.
