It's been a great season for Mensik, highlighted by winning his second ATP title in Auckland, reaching his maiden Grand Slam semi-final at Roland Garros and taking the scalp of Jannik Sinner in Doha.

Those results have helped propel Mensik to the verge of the top 10 and a big Asian swing could see him crack that elite bracket.

The 21-year-old had a solid North American hardcourt summer, reaching the quarter-finals in Canada, the R16 in Cincinnati and third round at the US Open.

Mensik beat Ben Shelton in Davis Cup after the US Open and was part of the victorious Team Europe in Laver Cup this past weekend.

If you feel like you haven't seen much of Bublik lately, you'd be right - he decided not to play any tournaments in the lead-up to the US Open, which is normally the case, before going down in the third round to Tommy Paul.

Bublik had a nice start to the year, making the fourth round of the Australian Open and winning the Hong Kong title to crack the top 10, along with a semi-final in Rotterdam.

The 29-year-old also finished runner-up in Kitzbuhel after a fourth round showing at Wimbledon, but overall, the consistency has dipped from last year.

Bublik has never won a match in two previous appearances in Beijing and faces another tough assignment here.
