The Chengdu Open was introduced to the ATP World Tour calendar in 2016 and has since been a key battleground during the Asian swing.
Karen Khachanov won the debut edition of the tournament and Australia's own Bernard Tomic is also among the honour roll having emerged triumphant in 2018.
Due to the pandemic, the Chengdu Open was cancelled between 2020-22, but returned in 2023, with Zverev coming away with the silverware. Chinese youngster delighted home fans by winning his maiden ATP title in Chengdu in 2024.
The tournament is played on hardcourt at the Sichuan International Tennis Centre and features a 28-player singles draw and 16-player doubles format.
The Centre Court has a capacity of 6,000, while there's two additional showcourts that can each hold 2,000 spectators.
