The Hangzhou Open was officially announced in May 2024 as the ATP's newest tournament following the relocation of the previous event in Zhuhai.

It will feature a state-of-the-art 8,000 seat Centre Court at the Hangzhou Olympic Tennis Centre, which hosted the Asian Games last year.

The Centre Court has a retractable roof, while two other show courts that hold 2,000 spectators each are in place.

Hangzhou has a population of almost 13 million people and is the birthplace of Chinese star Wu Yibing, who is set to continue his comeback from injury at this tournament.

Other big names set to compete at the inaugural Hangzhou Open include top 10 star Andrey Rublev, along with Holger Rune, Sebastian Korda, Karen Khachanov and Matteo Berrettini.

Australian players Rinky Hijikata and Chris O'Connell are also on the entry list.
