The China Open first began operating in 1993, with Michael Chang winning the first three versions of the tournament, which back then was classified as the equal of an ATP 250 event.
Upgraded to an ATP 500 tournament back in 2009, some of the biggest names in modern tennis have taken home the China Open title.
Novak Djokovic is a record six-time champion in Beijing, while Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have also secured the silverware. Carlos Alcaraz is the defending champion after beating rival Jannik Sinner in the 2024 final.
Staged at the Beijing Olympic Green Tennis Centre, the complex is comprised of 11 courts - including a 15,000 seat Centre Court with a retractable roof, which is known as the Diamond Court.
The singles draw is made up of 32 players and 16 teams compete in the doubles tournament.
