One of Sydney’s key spring mile features takes centre stage at Randwick on Saturday, with the 2026 Epsom Handicap bringing together a deep field of established Group 1 performers and emerging types.
The handicap conditions create plenty of intrigue, with several leading chances getting significant weight relief while others bring proven form over the Randwick mile into the Group 1.
At $3.60 with Laserbet, Autumn Boy heads the market for the 2026 Epsom Handicap.

2026 Epsom Handicap Best Bet - Autumn Boy
Staying at the mile is hardly a negative for Autumn Boy, despite there being every indication the Chris Waller-trained entire may ultimately prove at his best around 2000m.
He has already won the Caulfield Guineas over 1600m and Rosehill Guineas over 2000m, while his three defeats at this distance have all come behind the very smart Sheza Alibi.
That is excellent form to bring back into handicap conditions, and after carrying 58.5kg when runner-up in the Makybe Diva Stakes at weight-for-age level he looks well treated here with 55.5kg in a race that lacks the same depth.
Rain would introduce a slight unknown, although he is a dual winner on soft ground and handled a Soft 7 perfectly well when runner-up in the Doncaster Mile over this track and trip at the end of his previous preparation.
After an inconclusive return in the Memsie Stakes when held up at key stages, he was very good through the line at Flemington last start and looks ready to peak, making him a deserving favourite for the 2026 Epsom Handicap.
2026 Epsom Handicap Next Best Bet - Mr Miller
The winning run came to an end at Newcastle on September 18, but Mr Miller lost no admirers when beaten as the odds-on favourite in the Group 3 Cameron Handicap.
A wide draw saw the Chris Waller-trained gelding settle further back than anticipated over 1500m, and he still performed admirably in a race that otherwise suited those closer to the speed.
This is a major rise in class after two very soft benchmark wins to open the preparation, while there were also excuses in both defeats during his first campaign, so we still do not know the ceiling of the lightly raced son of Almanzor.
He sneaks into the Epsom with just 50kg, has shown he can handle both good and soft ground and should have no issue with the rise to a mile based on what he has produced to this point.
Whether he is seasoned enough for an open-age Group 1 handicap remains the question, but he has clearly been aimed towards this race and gets his chance down in the weights.
2026 Epsom Handicap Value Bet - God's Window
A roughie worth keeping very safe is God’s Window, particularly if the rain arrives and Randwick is genuinely testing by Saturday.
The Chris Waller-trained gelding won over this track and trip on heavy ground on May 23, and most of his best form has come on rain-affected surfaces, which would bring him further into calculations at a big price.
His latest effort had plenty of merit as he finished strongly along the inside and recorded the third-fastest last 200m of the race, with that form subsequently strengthened by Skyhook winning the Shannon Stakes last Saturday after taking out the Theo Marks.
He has been tried over further, including a placing over 2300m last spring, but his record suggests he is more effective around the mile and he is capable of producing a big finish when conditions suit.
With only 50kg in the Epsom and proven wet-track form over the Randwick mile already on the board, God’s Window fits the profile of a genuine bolter worth including if the weather plays his way.
