The second day of the 2025 Ebor Festival brings exciting races like the Yorkshire Oaks, with betting tips and strategic insights offered for each race. Key horses to watch include Dandana, Golden Brown, and Remmooz. Tips suggest these horses present strong each-way betting opportunities, while the Galtres Stakes could see a comeback for Lady Vivian. These highlights set the stage for thrilling outcomes and possibly unexpected race results, especially given Golden Brown's promising recent performances.

My preview for day two of the 2025 Ebor Festival is included below.

Ebor Festival - Day 2 Preview

Race 1 - Lowther Stakes Tips

Royal Fixation is far too short in the betting for my liking, so I'll take an each-way swipe at 4. DANDANA.

Simon and Ed Crisford's filly won nicely on debut at Kempton in July before following up under a penalty at Ripon 17 days ago.

James Doyle's mount made most of the running that day and picked up again once joined by Pearl Fortune, eventually pulling half-a-length clear on the run to the line.

This daughter of Blue Point showed a good attitude that day, despite seeming to struggle on the undulating track and York should suit Dandana well.

Race 2 - Harry's Half Million Tips

Another live each-way challenger worth keeping on-side is 10. GOLDEN BROWN, who remains a maiden after four starts.

Ed Walker's juvenile was well-beaten in a good race at Haydock first time out, and ran into traffic problems when fifth at Salisbury in June.

Golden Brown was then edged out over the minimum distance at Newcastle, losing out by a neck to 91-rated Sands Of Spain.

Again, Kieran Shoemark's mount caught a horror-trip on his handicap debut at Goodwood, staying on well to finish a one-and-a-half length fourth behind Ardisia.

A lack of winning form is a concern, but you do get funny results in conditions races like this and Golden Brown has shown glimpses of promise in recent starts.

He represents decent value.

Race 3 - Clipper Handicap Tips

With that three-year-old allowance on his side once again, 7. REMMOOZ can make it four wins from five career starts.

Owen Burrows' colt won his first couple of novice starts and he didn't run badly at all when fourth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.

On his handicap debut here on John Smith's Cup day, Remmooz travelled like a classy operator throughout and held on gamely to secure a narrow victory.

Kevin Stott's mount got the better of Sisyphean and Old Cock that day, and I fancy he had plenty more left up his sleeve.

This mark of 102 is certainly not insurmountable and Burrows' star can keep progressing through the rest of the season.

Race 4 - Yorkshire Oaks Tips

I had intended to take Minnie Hauk on.

While clearly a huge talent, Minnie Hauk doesn't seem the type who'll ever win emphatically and I fancied she could get caught out in small-field, tactical affair.

Estrange is the obvious alternative. Yet, David O'Meara has said that he won't risk his stable star on ground with firm in the description and that's exactly what he's faced with.

Qilin Queen would also prefer extra cut in the ground, so there's little point backing Ed Walker's youngster.

Wayne Lordan will be tasked with making the running on 2. GARDEN OF EDEN

Ryan Moore gave her an expert ride when scoring in the Ribblesdale, but the pair couldn't repeat that feat when last seen in the German Oaks, where Garden Of Eden failed to get into the race from off the pace.

The ground was soft at Düsseldor and Garden Of Eden didn't seem to enjoy it.

Qilin Queen will likely sit close to the pace, but there is a small chance that Lordan could stack the field up behind him before attempting to hang on from the front.

If Minnie Hauk isn't totally on her game, there could be an upset.

Race 5 - Galtres Stakes Tips

I'm not ready to give up on 9. LADY VIVIAN, who hasn't been seen since Royal Ascot.

Ralph Beckett's filly was sent off at 11/1 for the Ribblesdale Stakes, but didn't seem to handle the big occasion, running keen and lugging towards the rail as she finished a seven-length seventh.

Prior to that Royal outing, James Doyle's mount had claimed back-to-back wins.

First, Lady Vivian scored on her third maiden start at Southwell in March before she made a winning turf debut with an easy handicap success at Chester's May Festival.

While she may have flopped on her first start in these colours, Wathnan Racing snapped up Lady Vivian as a long-term investment.

Beckett's horses are in decent form at the moment and three-year-olds claim a healthy amount of weight from their elders in this Listed contest.
