Belmont Roughie Tip

Belmont Roughie - Race 6 No. 1 Memory Parade

Memory Parade should take benefit from her first-up outing, and while another wide draw isn't ideal, this is a more suitable race than the 72+ she tackled when resuming on July 4.

The daughter of War Chant finished off well after settling off the speed, and that form could receive another boost in Race 4, where Olympic Park and Auto Cruise renew their rivalry.

Although she's only won three races, she's been racing in much stronger company since scoring at Ascot early last year, adding two stakes placings to her record, including a runner-up effort between Captain Pluto and Red Sun Sensation in November.

Her second-up run in last year's Group 3 Eurythmic Stakes also reads well, and after stretching out in distance last preparation, keeping her around 1400m-1600m looks ideal.

Doomben Roughie Tip

Doomben Roughies - Race 9 No. 3 Pasima & No. 6 Cunnamulla Fella

Pasima and Cunnamulla Fella both appeal at generous odds in the Doomben finale, with conditions looking more favourable for the pair this weekend.

Pasima won four on the bounce earlier in the season before taking on The Wave, and after struggling on a Heavy 9 first-up, he produced a much better performance in the Listed Tattersall's Mile on a Soft 6.

Back in this grade, he gets a chance to bounce back, provided the track doesn't deteriorate too much.

Cunnamulla Fella followed a similar third-up path when successful over this course and distance last campaign, and after two runs short of his preferred trip this time in, he's well placed to improve stepping back up to a mile.

Flemington Roughie Tip

Flemington Roughie - Race 3 No. 10 Marine Express

Marine Express profiles as a second-up improver for the in-form Grahame Begg stable.

She rises in grade but meets a modest mares' field, receives a significant weight drop from her first-up assignment, and had little luck when beaten as favourite at Bendigo after being held up at a crucial stage.

Her form from last campaign also stacks up well, having chased home Cooly before winning at Werribee, while her final start produced a runner-up finish behind Oak Beach, who has since won in town.

She appeared more settled through her jump-outs before returning, and with natural improvement expected, she shapes as one of the runners with the most upside in this field.

Morphettville Roughie Tip

Morphettville Roughies - Race 6 No. 4 Spain & No. 5 Power Plan

The Group 3 South Australian Sires' Produce Stakes looks an even contest, and both Spain and Power Plan appeal as value chances at each-way odds.

Spain was outpaced on debut behind the talented Omolong but has taken plenty from that experience, highlighted by an impressive Werribee jump-out win ahead of his trip to Adelaide.

Blinkers are added, the inside draw should help, and the rise in distance shapes as another positive.

Power Plan is likely to appreciate further as a three-year-old, but he's making encouraging progress, while his pedigree also stands out as a close relative of Go Indy Go and the 2023 winner of this race, Air Assault.

Rosehill Roughie Tip

Rosehill Roughie - Race 2 No. 15 Prefer Diamonds

Embrace The Wind also deserves respect after catching the eye first-up in a strong Benchmark 72 at Rosehill, charging home from the back of the field to record the fastest final 200m of the meeting.

That race is already proving outstanding form, with the second, third and fourth placegetters all winning at their next appearances, and he gets every chance to improve dropping back to Midway grade from a kinder draw.

Prefer Diamonds remains the first emergency and still requires a scratching to gain a start.

If she does line up, she's capable of outrunning her price after three solid runs this campaign, while the addition of blinkers could be the key to unlocking another level, having always looked a mare that would benefit from the gear change.
