While his most recent winning form came on the country circuit, Boab Boy has repeatedly measured up in metro company, often in stronger races than this.

He built confidence in the spring with two wins from his last three starts, both by comfortable margins.

His two February runs suggest he is building well into the campaign, particularly given he does not boast first or second-up wins.

The six-year-old recorded the second-fastest last 200m at Belmont on February 18 and now looks ready for 1400m, bringing solid third-up stats.

Eagle Farm Roughie Tip


Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 8 No. 8 Stiktodascrypt

Stiktodascrypt flies under the radar for his 2026 return after a Toowoomba maiden win last winter before quickly proving competitive in Saturday metro company.

The subsequent form through Alpha Sofie has continued to stack up, as has his second to Foreign Press, a Listed winner in December.

His February 10 effort was workmanlike but should bring him on fitness-wise for this assignment.

At a big price, Stiktodascrypt appeals on an each-way basis.

Flemington Roughie - Race 2 No. 2 Dirty Grin

Dirty Grin shapes as the each-way play in an even contest after being completely unsuited by the race shape at Caulfield last time, yet still producing the fastest last 200m of the mile.

While proven at 1400m, his overall profile suggests sprint trips are more suitable.

Five of his six wins have come between 1100m and 1200m, and he had run well up the straight prior to that latest seven-furlong attempt.

With a more suitable tempo, he can settle back and look to finish over the top.

Morphettville Roughie - Race 4 No. 7 Wild Winner

Wild Winner disappointed last start but that effort can be forgiven after being held up at key stages in a race where momentum came from wider lanes, and a post-race veterinary report revealed the mare to be lame.

Prior to that, she appeared to be looking for more ground when runner-up in a stronger affair than she contests here.

The rise in distance on Saturday looks a positive, and she holds solid statistics on the Morphettville Parks circuit.

If finding anything resembling her best, she is well placed to surprise at odds.

Randwick Roughie Tip


Randwick Roughie - Race 10 No. 2 Bandi's Boy

Bandi’s Boy is not the most reliable but is talented on his day, and his latest defeat can be forgiven after racing back and wide at Rosehill where that was clearly inferior ground.

His prior form included three competitive stakes-level efforts before a freshen-up and a fourth on February 7.

Three of his five career wins have come at Randwick, including two over this 1200m trip.

Back at a preferred venue and distance, he can improve sharply at value odds.
