Ascot Roughie Tip

Ascot Roughie - Race 8 No. 6 Perfectly Proper

She could be the one set and peaking for the WA Sires' Produce Stakes, with Perfectly Proper arriving second-up.

The daughter of Pierata has been good in all starts and she just missed in the Magic Millions before a break.

Her return effort in a fast-run Karrakatta Plate should top the filly off nicely for her first attempt at 1400m.

Perfectly Proper given the impression that the extra distance will suit and she draws kinder for this Group 3.

Caulfield Roughie Tip

Caulfield Roughie - Race 3 No. 12 Fam Gorman

He was six weeks between runs and dropping in trip at Sandown, so it may to forgive the last start failure.

Fam Gorman was going well prior, having beaten Independent Road to win the Stony Creek Cup two back.

That seasoned runner-up is rated above any horse in this event and he has won a jump-out since the last run.

Second-up, he was third in a race won by a smart Revelare and the runner-up was a BM88 winner at his next start.

Gold Coast Roughie Tip

Gold Coast Roughie - Race 2 No. 16 Enterprise Lucia

This mare is rarely far away, with five wins and five placings from 17 starts, and she's only missed the top four twice.

Enterprise Lucia was a strong fresh winner on soft ground before recording a fourth-of-ten finish on April 26.

Given her lack of second-up form, that last performance was still a pass mark and she handles all conditions.

The main query is 1200m, but with a fitness base and a low weight, she'll get every chance to run the trip out.

Gosford Roughie Tip

Gosford Roughie - Race 7 No. 7 Etna Rosso

He hasn't been as effective in the anti-clockwise direction, although his Melbourne runs are better than they read.

After a decent Randwick return, which was effectively another trial, he was unsuited in his next two outings.

Etna Rosso didn't run a strong 2600m last start via the Roy Higgins Quality and the drop back in trip suits.

He moved well in a tick-over trial on April 29 and the gelding is down in the weights off recent efforts.

Morphettville Roughie Tip

Morphettville Roughie - Race 9 No. 6 Overstrike

This four-year-old opened his prep with a second in the Magic Millions SA 3 & 4YO Classic on March 8.

He then tired second-up after sitting on a fast speed and that winner took out a Group 3 on April 26.

Oakbank misses are worth forgiving, as many don't handle that track and he's also better placed back in trip.

Overstrike will roll forward, while his form over the entire season suggests that this BM68 is well within reach.
