Gosford Next Best Bet - Race 1 No. 5 Don't Doubt Merlin
First-up at 1200m is a query, as all of his winning form has all been over shorter trips, however, there's still plenty of upside with Don't Doubt Merlin.
He won three of his first four starts (all on wet tracks) and the son of Press Statement was very raw in those early appearances, where he as doing it on ability.
There was enough in his first two metro runs to suggest that he can measure up in better company than Midway grade and both trials leading in were encouraging.

Gosford Best Bet - Race 4 No. Engine Room
There was strong form around his runner-up finish at start two before a spell and this son of Super Seth has opened his second prep with back-to-back wins.
After taking out a decent Warwick Farm maiden, Engine Room blew away a small metro BM64 field at his latest and that was after racing a little keenly with a big weight.
He's lightly raced and still learning with a low rating, so connections made the right call to bypass The Coast, but he has the talent to make that grade in time.
Guardian Safety Solutions Gosford Cup Tips (Race 7)
Gosford Value Bet - Race 7 No. 7 Etna Rosso
This Chris Waller-trained galloper hasn't been as effective in the anti-clockwise direction, although his Melbourne runs are better than they read.
After a good Randwick return, which was effectively a trial, Etna Rosso was unsuited in two outings before failing to run a strong 2600m in the Roy Higgins Quality.
2000m-2300m is the sweet spot for the Newcastle Cup winner, who moved well in a tick-over trial on April 29 and he's down in the weights off recent efforts.

Gosford Feature Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Lady In Pink
She generally takes a run to hit her straps and without favours via her Caulfield resumption on April 5, that first-up showing was a pass mark.
Lady In Pink then contested the Queen Of The South, where she was only grabbed late by an in-form Zloties and On Display franked that form with a big win last week.
As an on-speed operator who can handle both good and soft ground (Group 2 winner on a Soft 7), Lady In Pink could easily relish a smaller Gosford circuit third-up.
Railway Hotel Gosford BM78 Handicap Tips (Race 10)
Gosford Roughie - Race 10 No. 6 Crafty Eagle
While his form tends to taper off as a prep wears on, Crafty Eagle is terrific fresh performer, with three first-up wins and a third from five fresh attempts.
There were excuses in both return losses, while the five-year-old carries the same 58.5kg imposts that he had when saluting first-up in this grade last campaign.
He was a little workmanlike when second via a strong heat on April 24, but a race-fit Jedibeel took out the trial and that stakes class sprinter almost won a Group 2 last week.
