Race 7 - Land Legend (third): He saluted over 2600m on Australian debut when successful via the 2023 Everest program and last spring, the highlight came when saluting in the Group 1 Metropolitan.

The son of Galileo remained competitive with a third in the Caulfield Cup before an eighth-place finish in the Melbourne Cup, however, he didn't progress in three autumn runs earlier this year.

With 1400m expected to be too sharp in Saturday's fresh assignment, Land Legend was a notable late drifter in the market, but he was hard to miss late when finishing third.
Race 8 - Roselyn's Star (fourth): This was a big return effort from Roselyn's Star, who was first-up following a 16-month absence and he arguably wins with a few more favours here.

The gelding was immediately set a task when he was unable to get in from a wide draw, which forced Roselyn's Star to race three-wide and without cover on a testing surface at Rosehill.

Admittedly, it was a slowly run affair, but the first three home still had more economical runs in the race and there should be plenty of upside going forward with this lightly raced four-year-old.
Race 10 - Lord Penman (second): On stable debut for Chris Waller was Lord Penman and he had built a tidy record in New Zealand, with four wins and two seconds from his first seven outings.

All of his victories have come in the 1400m-1500m, which add further merit his 1200m performance on Saturday, where he was allowed to find his feet early before working through his gears.

Race fitness and positive tactics proved the difference with the winner (Cloudland), who had the early tactical advantage, but Lord Penman looks the horse to follow from the last.
