Eagle Farm Roughie Tip

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 8 No. 6 Deepour

This sprinter hasn't been able to find the touch that he was in early under Adam Campton, but there's still been some competitive efforts in decent company.

Deepour is back under the care of Campton after a four-run Victorian campaign under Nick Ryan over spring/early summer last season, where his form was mixed.

While he was won over 1100m-1200m, fresh at 1000m is good set up and with a soft run in transit behind a fast speed, Deepour could be dangerous late.

His trial win was soft and Bailey Wheeler sticks from that recent hit-out, while the Wheeler and Campton combination are striking at 25% over the last 12 months.

Flemington Roughie Tip

Flemington Roughie - Race 9 No. 5 Capricorn Star

This is her toughest assignment, however, there isn't much to fear in this off-season BM78 against her own sex and Capricorn Star has the best winning strike-rate in the field.

The daughter of Maurice came to hand early last prep with a Heavy 10 triumph first-up at Pakenham and deeper into the campaign, she completed a metro double.

There were excuses for her January 22 miss (respiratory issue and hoof abscess found before a spell) and Capricorn Star is a trier who can put herself into the race.

Being first-up, Jamie Mott may look to be a touch conservative rather than search for the early lead, but she's still predicted to land in a prominent position from a good draw.

Murray Bridge Roughie Tip

Murray Bridge Roughie - Race 7 No. 4 Lift The Bar

She's still lightly raced for a seven-year-old and Lift The Bar has been mostly consistent in nine runs since joining the Sarah Rutten stable.

The daughter of Scissor Kick can produce a big finish, which we saw via he return last month when running the fastest last 200m of a BM64 that's produced two recent winners.

Lift The Bar shouldn't be flat of that effort, with the mare a second-up winner last prep before recording a fourth-place finish in a similar event to what she contests here.

The main query is the current Soft 7 track reading, however, she was only beaten half a length on a Soft 5 in her second start for the new yard and there could be an upgrade.

Pinjarra Roughie Tip

Pinjarra Roughie - Race 8 No. 12 Reliable Queen

There's been merit to both starts this prep, especially the return effort, with Reliable Queen recording the fastest last 400m and 200m of her first-up assignment.

She was much shorter in the market second-up and that was effectively a barrier trial, as the mare spotted her rivals too big of a start from a wide alley.

Now fitter with a few runs under the belt and with a low draw for this third-up tilt, there's no reason why they can't be more positive, while wet ground won't trouble the six-year-old.

Reliable Queen was a third-up winner on a Heavy 8 last winter and with a 3kg drop in the weights off her last performance, she has each-way claims in an open race.

Rosehill Roughie Tip

Rosehill Roughie - Race 5 No. 8 Totoka

She wasn't suited last time when getting back in slowly-run BM78, where Totoka was left flatfooted at the rear when the sprint went on, but she picked up late.

The daughter of Brutal was five weeks between runs in that July 19 attempt, which followed a somewhat plain performance on June 14, however, her prior form reads well for this.

There's always been an opinion of Totoka, with some aggressive placements over her earlier campaigns and now from a low draw in a BM72, she finds her right race.

Totoka has been competitive in most starts this year, which includes a Listed attempt over the Scone Carnival and Alysha Collett was aboard for her fresh triumph
