Saturday's ANZAC Day racing promises an exciting and diverse program across multiple states, featuring top-value picks beyond the favorites. Key recommendations include 'Earthstorm' in Ascot, who shows potential despite a modest strike rate, and Eagle Farm's 'Dirty Dancing', who looks promising following a successful previous campaign. Flemington’s 'Intervened' and Morphettville’s 'Stirrup Cup' also present as intriguing each-way bets due to recent form improvements. Highly-rated 'Nasebah' at Randwick further exemplifies the varied opportunities available to punters.

Saturday’s ANZAC Day racing sets up a deep national program, with strong cards across multiple states and plenty of value beyond the favourites.

Ascot Roughie Tip

Ascot Roughie - Race 7 No. 7 Earthstorm

The obvious knock with Earthstorm is the winning strike-rate, though she has been racing well in similar company.

She resumed with a third in the Marjorie Charleson Classic behind London’s Image, who heads this market.

That form was franked by Cessation last Saturday, adding further depth to the race.

First-up in that April 11 run while many key rivals are deeper into their campaigns, she may have improvement to come and appeals each-way in a tricky penultimate.

Eagle Farm Roughie Tip

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 1 No. 2 Dirty Dancing

Dirty Dancing has opened at a big price, despite nearly pinching a race over this track-and-trip on her last preparation return in October.

She atoned with a second-up victory before two competitive Listed efforts, holding her own in stronger company.

A recent autumn trial suggested she has returned in good order.

Any rain will suit, and with a 2kg claim in a BM78 against her own sex, the six-year-old looks well placed at a long quote.

Flemington Roughie Tip

Flemington Roughie - Race 6 No. 15 Intervened

The VRC St Leger shapes as an open race, and Intervened has opened at big odds as a lightly raced maiden.

His Pakenham run on March 5 was encouraging before failing to handle heavy ground second-up over 2000m when well backed.

A Cranbourne jumpout on April 13 was much better than the finishing position suggests, with the son of Kermadec strong through the line.

Erupt is another to consider, building well following a debut run without luck when stepping sharply from 1600m to 2550m, finishing runner-up to Ardashir, a promising stayer who has since franked the form.

Morphettville Roughie Tip

Morphettville Roughie - Race 9 No. 11 Stirrup Cup

Stirrup Cup showed promise through his three-year-old season, including a Listed placing in last year’s Adelaide Guineas.

His Oakbank return was a pass mark given he struck inferior ground and was backed at a price there.

He has since trialled leading into this, suggesting he has come on from that effort.

The gelding has a strong second-up record, including a placing behind Air Assault in the latest, a seven-time stakes winner who bolted in at Listed level the start following, and 1600m suits.

Randwick Roughie Tip

Randwick Roughie - Race 2 No. 15 Nasebah

Nasebah is a big price, with her overseas form suggesting that 1400m may be on the sharp side.

However, her Victorian jumpout work has been sharp, including a strong Flemington effort on April 10 when runner-up under riding.

Lightly raced imports are often placed cautiously if dour, and this placement suggests the stable has an opinion.

With Kingman progeny known to adapt well in Australia, she is worth considering each-way off that recent work.
