Last start Run To The Rose winner In Secret has again drawn favourably, with the Godolphin filly set to jump from gate three in the 2022 Golden Rose.

James McDonald takes back the reins on the early fav, with Tommy Berry back aboard She's Extreme (barrier 6), who was excellent against the bias via her first-up run in the Furious Stakes on September 3.

This pair combined to win the Group 1 Champagne Stakes in April, where they narrowly denied Fireburn (barrier 16) of the Sydney two-year-old triple crown.

The Golden Slipper and Sires' winner was good on return via the Run To The Rose and the forecast of rain later in the week will bring her right into calculations

Golden Mile (barrier 11) was another impressive Godolphin winner on the September 10 program from Rosehill, with the son of Astern taking out the Ming Dynasty Quality.

That terrific Group 3 win was completed over the Rosehill 1400m, the same track and trip of the Golden Rose.

Jacquinot (barrier 5) brings strong Melbourne form, with the Price & Kent Jnr colt easily accounting for Aft Cabin on return, and that galloper franked the form with a big win via the Caulfield Guineas Prelude last Saturday.

17 runners make up the final field for the 2022 Golden Rose, which headlines the September 24 program from Rosehill.

Golden Rose Winners

The Golden Rose is one of the Sydney's Spring Carnival's major races, with this feature also the first three-year-old Group One of the new season.

First being run and won in 1978, the race was originally known as the Peter Pan Stakes after the dual Melbourne Cup winner, but was renamed the Golden Rose after its grading was dropped from Group Two to and unlisted race, despite a prize money increase to $1 million.

The race was upgraded to Group One status in 2009, which has seen a number of top quality gallopers take out the race including The Autumn Sun, Trapeze Artist and Zoustar.

Bivouac (2019), Ole Kirk (2020) and In The Congo (2021) have won the last three editions of the Golden Rose.
