The Winx Stakes is the first Group 1 of the Australian racing season, with the 1400m weight-for-age feature to be run at Randwick on Saturday, August 22.
The race has become synonymous with Chris Waller, whose champion mare Winx won it twice before it was renamed in her honour, then claimed the inaugural edition as both a Group 1 and the Winx Stakes in 2018.
Waller has prepared four of the past six winners, including the last three, and $1.50 favourite with Unibet Australia, Autumn Glow, is well placed to extend that record.
The Autumn Sun mare won her first 11 starts before suffering her first defeat as a $1.30 favourite in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 2000m.
She is unbeaten over the Randwick 1400m, having resumed with victory in the Apollo Stakes in February.
Stablemate Aeliana, a $6 chance, finished runner-up in the Apollo Stakes before getting closer to Autumn Glow when second in the Verry Elleegant Stakes, then ended her autumn campaign with Group 1 wins in the Ranvet Stakes and Tancred Stakes.
The only other runner at a single-figure quote is Ninja ($9), who won the Hobartville Stakes over this distance before finishing fifth-of-nine in the Randwick Guineas.
Proven on all surfaces, the Michael Freedman-trained galloper appears forward enough to perform fresh after winning his latest Randwick trial on July 31.

Winx Stakes Winners
The Winx Stakes, registered as the Warwick Stakes, is the first Group 1 race of the Australian racing season and is run over 1400m under weight-for-age conditions at Royal Randwick.
The feature was renamed the Winx Stakes in 2018 in honour of champion mare Winx, who won the race three consecutive times from 2016 to 2018.
Chris Waller has prepared nine winners of the race since 2010, including four of the past six.
