Newcastle Knights vs Gold Coast Titans, Round 24 2026 - Expert Prediction

Newcastle have a strong recent record against the Titans at McDonald Jones Stadium, and with a top-four finish still within reach, the Knights are backed to continue that dominance at home.

The Knights enter Round 24 in sixth position after consecutive victories over Brisbane and Canberra, and another win would keep the pressure on the teams above them heading into the final weeks of the regular season.

That makes Newcastle -14.5 the preferred line selection. The Knights have won three of their last four games against the Titans at McDonald Jones Stadium, with all three victories coming by 20 points or more. Gold Coast, meanwhile, arrive after consecutive heavy defeats, losing 42-6 to the Warriors and 30-8 to North Queensland.

There is also a strong case for Under 50.5 total points. Each of the last four meetings between Newcastle and Gold Coast has finished below this line, including Newcastle's 36-12 victory earlier this season. The model projects 47.3 total points, giving the Under another layer of support.

Phillip Sami Anytime Tryscorer is the player selection, with the Titans winger on the verge of making club history. Sami's double against North Queensland took him level with Anthony Don on 85 tries as Gold Coast's all-time leading tryscorer. He has now scored three tries across his last three games and needs just one more to claim the record outright.

  • Newcastle have won three of their last four against Gold Coast at McDonald Jones Stadium.
  • All three of those Newcastle victories came by 20+ points.
  • The last four Knights-Titans meetings have gone Under 50.5 points.
  • Gold Coast have lost their last two matches by 36 and 22 points.
  • Phillip Sami has scored three tries across his last three games.

Head to Head

Newcastle have won three of the last five meetings between these sides, including a convincing 36-12 victory on the Gold Coast earlier this season.

The Knights have been particularly strong against the Titans at McDonald Jones Stadium, winning six of their last seven meetings at the venue.

Recent clashes also support the Under. The last four meetings have produced totals of 48, 44, 32 and 50 points, with each staying below the current 50.5-point line.

Newcastle Knights Form Analysis

The Knights followed an impressive 30-6 victory over Brisbane with a 30-24 win over Canberra last weekend. Newcastle were forced to fight throughout a seesawing contest but found enough attacking quality to hold off a late Raiders comeback.

Dominic Young was particularly dangerous, scoring twice and creating opportunities through his ability to break the defensive line, while Kalyn Ponga remains the key figure in an attack averaging 24.8 points across its last five games.

The Knights have also been extremely close in their recent defeats. Before their current two-game winning streak, Newcastle lost three consecutive matches by margins of two, one and two points.

Gold Coast Titans Form Analysis

Gold Coast's brief resurgence has quickly disappeared following two heavy defeats.

The Titans put together back-to-back victories over Manly and St George Illawarra, scoring 38 points in both games, but have since been beaten 42-6 by the Warriors and 30-8 by North Queensland.

Their defence remains the larger concern. Gold Coast have conceded 72 points across their last two games and are allowing an average of 28.8 points across their past five.
