New Zealand Warriors History

Entering the competition as the Auckland Warriors in the 1995 season, they changed to the New Zealand Warriors in 2001 and first made the finals in that same year.

Their best ever season came the year following in 2002 when winning the minor premiership (finished top of the ladder) and made it all the way through to the grand final where they were profoundly beaten by the Sydney Roosters in 30-8 result.

With five finals appearances following that in the next eight years, the New Zealand Warriors were a very competitive outfit and a tough side to beat on their home turf but went through a lean patch following that before a return to the top eight in 2018.

Stacey Jones, Steve Price, Simon Mannering and Manu Vatuvei are some of the champion players to represent the New Zealand Warriors in their history to date.
