Belmont Roughie - Race 4 No. 4 I Love Your Smile

It was hard to miss the May 23 return when I Love Your Smile produced the fastest final 200m of a 66+ event over a mile.

That performance saw her respected in the market on a seven-day turnaround when stepping straight to 2100m, a testing assignment so early in the campaign.

Although well held behind a pair she meets again, the daughter of Sebring was unsuited by the race shape after settling back before working home strongly.

She strips fitter for that effort and, with her last two victories both coming over this track and trip, appeals at attractive odds.

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 6 No. 15 Roll On High

Roll On High had excuses in the Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic after arriving there off an eye-catching Bendigo resumption.

That return saw the Shamus Award mare record the fastest closing sectionals of the Gold Bracelet, a performance that suggested she had come back in good order.

A two-time stakes winner, her last success came in Group 3 company at Eagle Farm before she tackled a pair of Group 1 assignments.

Heavy ground is a query, but she handles soft conditions and any track upgrade would bring her firmly into calculations at generous odds.

Murray Bridge Roughie Tip

Murray Bridge Roughie - Race 9 No. 4 Budjik Boy

Although flatter second-up at Swan Hill last week, Budjik Boy produced a good return during the Warrnambool Carnival.

He was backed at odds for that fresh run and now appears much better suited stepping up to a mile, while a previous Horsham victory came off a similar quick turnaround.

The grey also placed in his only previous attempt at Murray Bridge, with that effort coming third-up over 1400m on a Soft 5 earlier this season.

Rain-affected ground may be the key, with Budjik Boy boasting an excellent wet-track record and a platform to improve over a more suitable journey.

Rosehill Roughie - Race 3 No. 10 Hollywood Gold

It was a disappointing resumption at Muswellbrook, where Hollywood Gold covered ground after being sent forward and never really settled.

The subsequent efforts have been encouraging, including a Tamworth run in a race that has already produced three subsequent winners.

The son of Casino Prince improved again at Quirindi when badly held up late and arguably should have finished much closer.

He has since bolted in at a June 6 trial and, with the rise in trip and a light weight, looks over the odds.

Sandown Roughie - Race 9 No. 2 Sought After

Sought After looked a giveaway price when sent around at $8 in his latest appearance at Murray Bridge.

The Moody and Coleman-trained galloper justified that confidence, recording the fastest final 200m of the program in victory.

His earlier Australian runs came in stronger company, with excuses also evident in his first two autumn appearances.

A fourth placing in The Kiwi highlights the quality of his New Zealand form, and despite a Heavy-track query, this looks a suitable opportunity with the 3kg claim in his favour.
