Eagle Farm Tips June 13

Race 1 - 11:43AM The Wayne Wilson Tips (1600m)

2. Yellow Jersey is an interesting runner on Australian debut. The former French galloper won his first three starts last year, including a Listed affair, before placing at Group 2 level. In October, he was beaten just over half a length as favourite. His form has genuine Group 1 references, including Dubai Honour, the globetrotting star who has won multiple Group 1 races in Australia and overseas.

The obvious query is kicking off at a mile, given most of those form references came over 2000m and beyond. The betting could prove key late, but the recent Sunshine Coast trial win was sharp on a Heavy 10 surface and all of his European form came on rain-affected tracks.

1. Welwal was a strong winner two starts back before being beaten as favourite on May 16. He's better placed under the weight-for-age scale here, where he meets that winner 4.5kg better off. Rain-affected ground is the key to this seven-year-old, who finds another suitable assignment.

4. War Eternal is aiming for a hat-trick and recorded his first victory on a Good surface last week at a big price, suggesting the son of Pierro is in great touch. The race conditions aren't quite as suitable this time, but the underfoot conditions certainly are.

9. Pasima is outclassed on ratings, but he's going well and looks suited at a mile third-up. He could be one to include in exotics at bolters odds.

Selections: 2-1-4-9.

Race 2 - 12:18PM Ticketmaster Oxlade Stakes Tips (1200m)

10. Say You Will appears suited stepping up to 1200m after two 1000m assignments, including her Magic Millions debut on December 19, where she finished runner-up to Lumbini. That has proven a strong form reference both in Brisbane and Sydney, with that filly later placing behind Warwoven and also finishing Group 3 placed behind Pembreyvia a Golden Slipper lead-up.

She was set a big task via her Gold Coast resumption on May 22, an event won by Smart at his next start. However, she worked home strongly with the second-fastest closing sectionals of the race and, with the rise to six furlongs in a contest that should have genuine speed on, she can finish off strongly at her third career start.

5. Hard To Exceed landed good bets when bolting in on debut at Doomben in March before heading for a break. The gelding has looked sharp in two jump-out wins ahead of his return, including a dominant five-length Gold Coast hit-out after being kept under a hold in a Beaudesert trial. The wide draw is the obvious challenge, but there's plenty to like about his lead-up work.

1. Marfiano also comes through the Magic Millions National 2YO Classic, which was won by a smart youngster. He produced a solid debut triumph prior to that and draws to enjoy a favourable run just behind the speed.

2. Areprice finished fourth in the Magic Millions International Classic after briefly looking a threat. He's still doing a few things wrong, but the ability is there and he shouldn't be dismissed.

Selections: 10-5-1-2.

Race 3 - 12:53PM XXXX Brisbane Cup Tips (3200m)

7. Bella Montagna is unknown at 3200m, but she's building nicely into the campaign. She appreciated the rise to 2400m last start when just missing behind stablemate Alalcance in the Premier's Cup. Importantly, she meets that mare 3kg better at the weights from that clash, while Rachel King retains the ride after giving her every chance in the key lead-up.

Both runners head the market and are prepared by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. Waterhouse has a terrific record in the Brisbane Cup and, in partnership with Bott, the stable has prepared three of the last seven winners, including last year's victor Campaldino.

1. Alalcance returned to winning form in the Premier's Cup and was there to be run down late after arguably hitting the front a touch too soon. The six-year-old was brave to the line and, while she now carries an extra 2kg for the rise in trip, she couldn't have done much more in that lead-up performance.

12. Zibulon looks an out-and-out stayer who was tested in the Adelaide Cup earlier this year. He improved with every run through May, with the latest being a narrow defeat in the Sandown Cup over this distance.

5. Highland Bling could be the sharp improver from the Premier's Cup, where he settled back and was never in contention. Prior to that, he had placed at his previous two starts over 3200m, including a narrow defeat in the Adelaide Cup and another placing in the Sydney Cup.

Selections: 7-1-12-5.

Race 4 - 1:28PM Sky Racing Gunsynd Classic Tips (1600m)

10. Within The Law is on second in line of betting and it's a little surprising she isn't favourite off her Fred Best Classic effort. After overcoming trouble in running, she charged home with the fastest closing sectionals of the race. Her only previous run this campaign was also full of merit, having endured no luck in a 1200m Group 3 at Rosehill in March.

She may have given the Stradbroke Handicap a shake had she gained a start, with 1400m perhaps the ideal trip and more exposed form to her name. However, she has placed over this distance and, based on her May 30 performance, the mile looks ideal at this stage of the campaign. Tommy Berry also has a softer draw to work with this time.

11. Tupakara could represent the value. She finally broke through second-up at Wyong on soft ground before heading north, while her latest effort in the Queensland Guineas over this distance was an eye-catching one. Wet ground appears the key and she's since completed a quiet tick-over trial.

1. Sixties heads the market and is currently first emergency for the Stradbroke Handicap, which is clearly the preferred target. A low draw would suit in that Group 1, while 1400m appears his ideal range. He has looked vulnerable in both previous attempts at a mile, although his exposed form is very strong for a race of this nature.

2. Skyhook is another of the leading chances, although the mile poses a slight query. He may be able to roll forward and control the race, and his class should take him a long way if afforded that opportunity.

Selections: 10-11-1-2.

Race 5 - 2:03PM Seven Hinkler Handicap Tips (1200m)

6. Barber is one of many genuine contenders in arguably the most open race on the program. He resumes off a Listed Chief De Beers appearance on May 23, where he was held up at key stages before finishing fifth of 12 and should have finished closer in that Doomben appearance.

His second-up statistics are solid, having won at this stage of his first 2025 campaign when at Listed level on soft ground. His latest second-up attempt also resulted in a runner-up finish behind Flying For Fun, who subsequently won at Group 3 level and was unlucky in Group 1 company during the Adelaide Carnival.

17. About To Explode also comes through the Listed Chief De Beers and was another runner who had little luck. He settled back before being forced off heels and wider on the track when making his run. The switch to Eagle Farm is a positive, with four wins and three seconds from nine starts at the venue, all over 1200m.

1. Payline brings arguably the best exposed form into the race. He's a somewhat quirky galloper who tends to run the same race regardless of the grade, and while his last win came back in January 2025, he's racing well enough to warrant respect here.

10. Golden Decade goes around at long odds, but both runs this campaign have had merit. He could be the blowout in a race where plenty of runners can be given a chance.

Selections: 6-17-1-10.

Race 6 - 2:38PM Magic Millions Dane Ripper Stakes Tips (1300m)

15. Roll On High had excuses in the Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic. She arrived there off an eye-catching Bendigo return, where she recorded the fastest closing sectionals of the Gold Bracelet. While she's still looking to break a lengthy winning drought, the Shamus Award mare a two-time stakes winner who has been competitive in stronger company.

Her last victory was a Group 3 triumph at Eagle Farm as a late three-year-old before tackling a pair of Group 1 assignments. She also produced an eye-catching third-up second during the 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival when rewarding out each-way supporters. Heavy ground is a query, but she handles soft conditions and an upgrade or two would bring her right into calculations at attractive odds.

8. She's Got Pizzazz landed the cash for us on the Gold Coast two starts back when relishing the rise to 1400m. That followed an unlucky effort in a strong form race at Mornington and, while the drop back to 1200m didn't suit at Eagle Farm last start, she was hard to miss late when savaging the line. The return to seven furlongs is a major positive.

9. Snow In May looks to be going beautifully for the Tom Charlton yard. She impressed in a Hawkesbury trial win on June 1 after narrowly missing third-up at Randwick in April, and this may have been a targeted black-type assignment. She's the her best when fresh.

2. Firestorm has an excellent first-up record, with four of her five wins coming fresh. She also worked home nicely in her latest trial and shouldn't be underestimated.

Selections: 15-8-9-2.

Race 7 - 3:17PM Trackside NZ J.J. Atkins Tips (1600m)

4. Tron Bolt is superbly bred, being by Toronado and the first foal out of Baccarat Baby, a Group 3 winner over this distance. His dam is also a half-sister to three-time Group 1 winner Duais, and those bloodlines suggest the rise to a mile will suit.

The Chris Waller-trained colt has improved with every run this preparation, progressing from an even debut effort to dominant wins at Randwick Kensington and Rosehill. He was particularly impressive on wet ground last time, putting away Cormier with authority. The wide draw is the obvious challenge, but with James McDonald aboard and Eagle Farm's spacious layout to work with, he is the one to beat in the 2026 JJ Atkins.

5. Stormy Marco races in the same Hermitage Bloodstock colours as stablemate Tron Bolt, with those connections having won the 2018 JJ Atkins with The Autumn Sun. He was  the hard-luck story of the Sires' Produce Stakes, where he was held up at key stages before checking off heels late. Nash Rawiller takes the ride and the colt appeals as the main danger.

12. Voynichese somehow found a way to lose a Bathurst maiden on debut before breaking through at Albury. He then handled the sharp rise to Listed level with a stylish victory in last Saturday's Show A Heart Stakes. The back-up is the obvious query, but the way she hit the line there suggests the mile will suit.

6. Kickup Rocky did enough in his first campaign to suggest rising distances would suit, with his December runs providing a solid foundation. That has proved the case this preparation, breaking through over 1300m before charging home at a big price in the Sires' Produce Stakes.

Selections: 4-5-12-6.

Race 8 - 3:57PM Ladbrokes Stradbroke Handicap Tips (1400m)

7. Headley Grange landed goods bet for us when breaking through for a deserved Group 1 victory in the Kingsford Smith Cup. While the margin was narrow, he arguably did his best work in slightly inferior ground on the May 30 program and there was plenty to like about the performance.

The rise to 1400m looks ideal and, despite dropping from weight-for-age conditions into a handicap, he meets several key rivals better at the weights, including Desert Lightning, Another Wil, Private Eye and Rothfire. He also has a handy swing on Fangirl, who was the pick of the closers in that lead-up. Tactically versatile and effective on any surface, Headley Grange is a deserving favourite in a typically competitive Stradbroke Handicap.

18. Regal Award has been a frustrating horse for punters, but his Fred Best Classic victory was a reminder of the talent he possesses. Settling closer to the speed proved the key to turning his form around and that breakthrough could be the confidence booster he needs ahead of this Group 1 assignment. With just 49.5kg on his back and plenty of upside still to come, the son of Ole Kirk appeals as a genuine contender.

17. Tuned has been a much more reliable horse since being gelded, recording three wins and two placings, including a victory over this track-and-trip. His Gold Coast return was full of merit after covering ground throughout and, with just 51kg on his back and a favourable map, Tuned appeals as a genuine value contender.

14. Splash Back had little luck in Sydney on return before announcing herself for the Brisbane Winter Carnival with a strong Victory Stakes win. She was solid in the Kingsford-Smith Cup and is better suited back in handicap conditions here. This has long looked the target race.

Selections: 7-18-17-14.

Race 9 - 4:30PM HKJC World Pool Q22 Tips (2200m)

1. Half Yours was disappointing in the Doomben Cup, but he had been building fairly into that 2000m assignment following a sound Gold Coast Stakes return over a trip too short of his best. He was expected to strip fitter off his Hollindale Stakes effort and this has long been the target race for last year's Caulfield and Melbourne Cup winner.

While he handles all conditions, Half Yours is even more effective on rain-affected ground and any give in the surface is a positive. Now fourth-up and out to 2200m, he gets conditions much closer to his liking. He still needs to produce at weight-for-age level, but has the class to do so, especially at this distance.

10. Pride Of Jenni is an exciting front-runner and always a must-watch wherever she goes. The rise to 2200m is the obvious query, with 1600m to 1800m perhaps her ideal range these days, but she was brave in the Doomben Cup when runner-up after looking vulnerable a long way from home. A drier track would also suit.

2. Vauban was the pick of the closers in the Doomben Cup after arriving there off a freshen-up and a Tancred Stakes placing. The way he hit the line suggests the extra trip will suit, while the spacious Eagle Farm circuit is another positive.

6. Kovalica is hard to trust on recent form, but he's an outstanding Eagle Farm performer, with four wins from five starts at the track, including last year's Q22. He's at peak fitness now.

Selections: 1-10-2-6.
