Hong Kong champion Ka Ying Rising (barrier 7) tuned up in Australia with a close third in a Randwick 1000m trial on October 7, finishing just behind Linebacker and Overpass.

The David Hayes-trained five-year-old arrives with multiple Group 1 victories and the profile of a proven international sprinter, now set to tackle Randwick’s 1200m after several solid public hit-outs.
Jimmysstar (barrier 11) runs in the TAB slot for this year’s Everest and brings strong current-season form, highlighted by his All Aged Stakes win at Randwick in April.
He’s been prepared with the spring sprints in mind and retains genuine claims on the strength of that elite autumn performance and consistent feature-race form since.
Joliestar (barrier 5) secured her berth with a decisive first-up victory in The Shorts at Randwick and has since trialled to maintain her sharpness.
Already a three-time Group 1 winner, she returns to the Everest distance with recent race fitness and a tick-over trial to keep her fresh heading into the grand final.
Briasa (barrier 10) brings ideal 1200m Randwick credentials, having captured the TJ Smith Stakes in the autumn and claiming the Premiere Stakes second-up on October 4.
That combination — same track and distance, Group 1 in the autumn followed by a spring lead-up win — makes him one of the most proven contenders under Everest conditions.
Lady Shenandoah (barrier 6) resumed with a luckless narrow defeat in the Concorde Stakes before heading to the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley, where she had excuses in a race that didn’t suit.
The mare has continued to build fitness and should appreciate returning to Randwick, where she’s produced several of her best runs.
Tempted (barrier 1) is the sole three-year-old in the field, and they have a decent record in The Everest, which includes two prior victors Yes Yes Yes (2019) and Giga Kick (2022).
The Godolphin filly is better placed back to 1200m after finishing third in The Golden Rose, having won three of her past four attempts over this trip.
