The hosts followed their 67-run victory in Durban with a 32-run win at The Wanderers, posting 365-9 before dismissing Australia for 333. South Africa have now won four consecutive ODIs and their last seven completed ODIs against Australia across the past three series.

Aiden Markram over 25.5 runs is our batting bet. He was dismissed first ball in Game 2, but returns to a ground where he smashed an unbeaten 102 off 74 balls against Australia in 2023. That innings helped South Africa post 338-6 on their way to a 111-run victory.

Potchefstroom also holds good recent memories for the hosts. South Africa beat Australia by 111 runs here in 2023 after making 338-6, with Markram's unbeaten century leading the batting effort. Australia were then dismissed for 227 despite reaching 104-1 after the opening powerplay.

South Africa have taken an unassailable 2-0 series lead after producing two very different victories.

Breetzke's 112 and Maharaj's 4-20 were central to the 67-run win in Durban before Temba Bavuma and David Miller took over in Johannesburg. Bavuma made 103 off 116 balls and Miller blasted 142 off 93 as South Africa piled up 365-9.

Markram returned for Game 2 after missing the opener for personal reasons but was dismissed first ball by Josh Hazlewood. He nevertheless bowled his full allocation of 10 overs, taking 1-55, and remains a strong batting option heading to a venue where he has previously made an ODI century against Australia.

Australia are searching for a consolation victory after losing the opening two matches despite having opportunities in both.

Their batting improved significantly in Johannesburg. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head both made 84 and put on 130 for the opening wicket as Australia chased 366. The middle order again failed to capitalise, although Xavier Bartlett's late 50 off 28 helped take the chase into the final over before Australia were dismissed for 333.

Jack Edwards was the standout with the ball, taking 5-67, while Josh Hazlewood claimed 3-70. Australia will need another strong bowling performance after conceding 297 and 365 across the opening two matches.
