Sydney Kings vs Brisbane Bullets NBL27 Expert Tips

The Brisbane Bullets are tipped to cover the +6.5 line against the Sydney Kings in Wednesday night's Ignite Cup clash at Afterpay Arena, with Brisbane's impressive start suggesting this could be much closer than their recent meetings.

Sydney have been outstanding offensively, scoring 111 and 121 points in their two wins, but Brisbane are also 2-0 behind some huge individual performances. Arnas Velička has recorded double-digit assists in both games, while Max Mackinnon exploded for 31 points and 12 rebounds against Illawarra.

That scoring makes over 194.5 total points another play, while Mackinnon 7+ rebounds is the standout player prop. He had seven boards against New Zealand before grabbing 12 against Illawarra, and his work on the glass has been specifically praised by coach Will Weaver. The 10+ rebounds line is also worth a smaller play at the bigger price.

Back Brisbane +6.5 and over 194.5 points, with Max Mackinnon 7+ rebounds the player prop and a smaller play on 10+ rebounds.

Key Stats

  • Sydney are averaging 116.0 points through their opening two games.
  • Brisbane are averaging 95.5 points and are also unbeaten at 2-0.
  • Max Mackinnon has recorded seven and 12 rebounds in his first two NBL27 games.
  • Sydney have won 14 of their past 15 games against Brisbane.

Sydney Kings vs Brisbane Bullets Head to Head

Sydney lead the all-time series 61-38 and have dominated Brisbane recently, winning 14 of the past 15 meetings. The most recent was particularly one-sided, with the Kings beating the Bullets 117-77 in February, but Brisbane's roster and form look dramatically different entering NBL27.

Sydney Kings Form

Sydney are 2-0 with their 111-90 opening win over Cairns being followed up with a 121-100 demolition of Illawarra on Sunday. The Kings shot 56% from the field against the Hawks and had already scored 98 points by three-quarter time.

Kendric Davis produced 31 points and six assists, Torrey Craig scored 20 and Makuach Maluach added 19 without missing a shot. Sydney's offence has been the best in the NBL through two rounds, but they have still conceded 90 and 100 points.

Brisbane Bullets Form

It's still early, but Brisbane look nothing like the team that finished last in NBL26. The Bullets followed their 88-85 comeback win over New Zealand with a 103-95 victory over Illawarra to improve to 2-0 under Will Weaver.

Velička has been outstanding with 25 assists across his first two NBL games, while Mackinnon followed seven rebounds against New Zealand with 31 points and 12 boards against Illawarra. Nate Hinton also had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the Hawks win, giving Brisbane multiple players producing at a high level heading into their biggest test so far.
