I Wish I Win (barrier 9) had excuses when narrowly beaten in the 2023 Everest, with the gelding finishing second to Think About It after being held-up on the inside at key stages.

It was an unusual spring lead-up for the son of Savabeel, who returned over 1400m in the Memsie Stakes and he was then six weeks between runs second-up in The Everest.

The Moody & Coleman-trained galloper has completed two spring runs this time in and he's found the line well on each occasion.

Bella Nipotina (barrier 12) is getting better with age and after what was arguably a career best season in 2023/2024, she'll arrive to the The Everest off two strong performances and the last of those was a placing over this track/trip in the Premiere Stakes.

Growing Empire (barrier 7) is a Ciaron Maher-trained colt who hasn't finished outside of the top two in six starts, which includes four victories.

His winning streak ended with a narrow last start defeat as fav in the Manikato Stakes, however, he still acquitted himself well in his first try against older horses and three-year-old's do have a decent record in The Everest.

Ciaron Maher is also represented by I Am Me (barrier 1) and with back-to-back wins to open her spring campaign, the daughter of I Am Invincible is one of the in-form runners in The Everest field.

Although Giga Kick (barrier 3) hasn't been in the money via two appearances this season, the 2022 Everest winner will only strip fitter now third-up from a 12-month absence and Mark Zahra takes the reins on Saturday.

Chris Waller is the only trainer to have preapred two winners of the Everest with different horses and he'll be aiming for a third with Joliestar (barrier 4).

Following a brilliant return triumph, the four-year-old was a touch plain when third in a Sheraco Stakes that was won by Sunshine In Paris (barrier 8) and the daughter of Invader also arrives to The Everest on the fresh side, although she has completed a tick-over trial.

Private Eye (barrier 10) has placed in the last two runnings of this feature and that includes a brave third via the 2023 edition, where the Joe Pride-trained galloper covered ground.

Stradbroke winner Stefi Magnetica (barrier 6) was an eye-catcher on return when runner-up to I Am Me in The Shorts and the four-year-old will relish the extra 100m second-up.

The Waterhouse & Bott stable prepare Storm Boy (barrier 5) and Lady Of Camelot (barrier 11), and both three-year-old's are among the main early speed influences in this field.

Traffic Warden (barrier 2) will race in the Godolphin slot and the James Cummings-trained youngster is back to 1200m after a narrow second-up defeat in the Golden Rose.

The Everest Winners

The Everest was first run and won in 2017, changing the Australian and international racing scene in the process.

With $20 million on offer via buyers purchasing 12 slots in the race, The Everest is a one-of-a-kind race in Australia held at Randwick every October and it is the richest turf race in the world.

This 1200m weight-for-age feature will be classed as a Group 1 from 2024 onwards.

Both the 2017 and 2018 runnings were won by star sprinter Redzel, while Yes Yes Yes (2019), Classique Legend (2020), Nature Strip (2021), Giga Kick (2022) and Think About It (2023) have won the last five editions of The Everest.
