Long-priced runners are set to feature across Saturday's meetings, with several overlooked chances bringing strong form references, favourable setups and genuine upset potential into their respective races.

Belmont Roughie Tip

Belmont Roughie - Race 7 No. 7 Ilgiro Delmondo

Ilgiro Delmondo returns to a track and distance range that suited her well last campaign, with both victories coming at Belmont and under Saturday's rider Shaun O'Donnell.

The veteran hoop reunites with the mare after an unlucky May 20 effort where she was forced to race wide throughout.

There was merit in that performance given the tough run, while she also arrived there off two 1800m attempts at Ascot in stronger company and was caught working early in one of those outings.

Her form is better than it reads, and with a kinder run in transit and a solid fitness base, Ilgiro Delmondo appeals as an each-way chance at attractive odds.

Eagle Farm Roughie Tip

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 5 No. 11 Sequista

Sequista was competitive in strong company throughout her juvenile season despite not managing to break through in four starts.

After a narrow defeat as a short-priced favourite first-up in November, she returned to winning form with an impressive maiden victory at Gosford.

The filly comes through the Listed Denise's Joy Stakes at Scone on May 16, where she was well supported in betting but had little luck after being dragged back and forced wide.

Despite the difficult run, she recorded the fastest last 400m and 200m of the race, and a kinder draw gives her every chance to improve second-up.

Flemington Roughie Tip

Flemington Roughie - Race 8 No. 6 Certify

Queensland trainer Paul Shailer has elected to send Certify south for his Melbourne debut, which makes for an interesting placement.

The son of Justify performed well at big odds in the Group 3 Rough Habit Plate on May 16 after winning his previous two starts.

Unfortunately, he could not gain a start in last Saturday's Group 1 Queensland Derby, remaining the first emergency for the feature.

This looks an open contest and he is up against no world-beaters, while the bigger Flemington circuit should suit, although a low draw remains a query.

Morphettville Roughie Tip

Morphettville Roughie - Race 6 No. 4 Everything Counts

Everything Counts was entitled to tire late when resuming for the Bain & Taylor stable at Murray Bridge on May 23.

The gelding contested a fast-run race in slightly stronger company than he meets here and there should be improvement to come from that first-up effort.

He was also disadvantaged by racing in the inferior ground on the inside, with Murray Bridge often favouring runners making ground through the middle and wider lanes.

From barrier two under Jason Holder, Everything Counts should secure a soft run in transit and gets conditions that have suited him well in the past.

Randwick Roughie Tip

Randwick Roughie - Race 9 No. 13 Geemes

Geemes has continued to improve since joining the Beer & Carpenter stable, putting together a winning hat-trick and quickly climbing through the grades.

The mare resumed with a strong Midway performance before almost causing a major upset in the Listed Canberra Cup at generous odds.

There were genuine excuses in the Albury Cup, where she was heavily backed but never enjoyed the smoothest passage.

A recent tick-over trial was encouraging and her form stacks up well for this level, making her an appealing roughie despite taking on some classier opposition.
