• Svitolina is arguably the form player in the draw - she's on an eight-match winning streak from Rome and remains in formidable tough in Paris
• Svitolina's last nine wins vs players outside the top 20 have seen Under 18.5 total games - she's absolutely crushing lower-ranked opponents at the moment
• Korpatsch has never been a threat at this level - she's 0-8 in completed matches vs top 20 players, with six of her last seven defeats coming with Under 18.5 total games
• Svitolina has only lost one match vs a player outside the top 50 at Roland Garros (2020) and she's not about to lose a second here

Rafael Jodar vs Alex Michelsen Prediction

• Jodar is very much the real deal and with Sinner's shock exit, he's sensationally the fourth favourite to win the Roland Garros title
• It's hard to argue - the 19-year-old has won 17 of his last 20 matches on clay coming into this clash
• Jodar is more often than not dominating his opponents - 13 of those 17 victories have come in straight sets
• Michelsen is improving on this surface, but he remains very much a work in progress and has benefitted from an easy draw to make R13 - the American's two previous Roland Garros exits were in straight sets and a third is looming here

Pablo Carreno Busta vs Thiago Agustin Tirante Prediction

• This one is mostly a vibe play - I really like PCB with a +4.5 start in this spot
• Tirante has been on fire & I actually backed him at $34 to emerge from this quarter pre-tournament
• The Argentine has done nothing for me to jump off the bandwagon, but I also have to follow the odds - and I think this is closer to a 50-50 contest, which makes backing the underdog appealing
• Carreno Busta registered a very impressive straight sets victory over 12th seed Lehecka in his opening round and is fresh here after Kokkinakis retired in R2 - which is important in these sweltering conditions
• Tirante is also playing his first Grand Slam third round match - with the draw opening up, there could be a lot of nerves in play, which can also lead to cramping in this heat
• Carreno Busta is a two-time French Open quarter-finalist, so he's far more experienced in these situations - that could play a pivotal role if the match stays close

Marta Kostyuk vs Viktorija Golubic Prediction

• I also backed Kostyuk to win her quarter and even the entire tournament, but this line for Golubic is just too good to ignore
• I still believe Kostyuk wins this match and probably in fairly routine fashion - but the Swiss is playing great tennis and can cover the big +6.5 start
• Indeed, Golubic hasn't lost more than two games in a single set for the entire tournament, beating Udwardy 6-0 6-2 before crushing Parks 6-2 6-2
• Golubic also made the quarter-finals of the 125 event in Parma and the third round in Rome before arriving in Paris, so she's got sustained good form on the board - and her last three defeats have come in a deciding set, so the +6.5 start looks well and truly in play here
• Kostyuk also dropped a set in her last match vs Volynets - perhaps the pressure of playing as a title favourite is causing a bit of tension
