Read on below for our French Open best bets for Day 5.

Maja Chwalinska vs Elise Mertens Tips

🏆 Best Bet: Chwalinska +3.5 Games

Bet Reasoning

  • Chwalinska is on fire and in career-best form heading into this clash
  • Chwalinska has already won four matches this tournament after qualifying for the main draw
  • Chwalinska hasn't just been beating opponents, she's been destroying them - the Pole has won three 6-0 sets so far, including over Olympic champion Zheng in R1 of the main draw
  • Mertens is always consistent, but she hasn't been setting the world on fire lately - indeed, she hasn't made a quarter-final on tour since August 2025. Good opportunity for Chwalinska to at least cover with a +3.5 start

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Matteo Arnaldi Tips

🏆 Best Bet: Arnaldi +3.5 Games

Bet Reasoning

  • Tsitsipas is down at No. 79 in the rankings and has been in an awful slump over the last couple of years
  • Tsitsipas arrived in Paris with a negative 4-5 record on clay at tour-level and only advanced into R2 due to a retirement from Muller
  • Tsitsipas lost in R2 of Roland Garros last year to World No. 167 Matteo Gigante in four sets
  • Tsitsipas has lost his last four Grand Slam second round matches
  • Arnaldi meanwhile is in excellent resurgent form, coming into this clash having eight of his last nine clay court matches
  • Arnaldi beat De Minaur for a top 10 scalp in Rome and knocked out 29th seed Griekspoor in his RG opener - his level is good enough to at the very least cover here vs a struggling opponent

Ben Shelton vs Raphael Collignon Tips

🏆 Best Bet: Collignon Win 2+ Sets

Bet Reasoning

  • Been waiting for Collignon to get his chance at a big Grand Slam scalp and this looks like the perfect opportunity in Paris
  • Collignon has won 11 of his last 13 matches at all levels and has a 4-3 record in his career vs top 20 players - his level is capable of beating the very best
  • Shelton might be 10-1 in slam R2 matches, but none of those opponents have been ranked as high as Collignon (No. 62 and the Belgian is really a top 30 level player right now)
  • Shelton lost to Basilashvili, Altmaier and Prizmic in his last three clay events before Roland Garros - he's certainly vulnerable on this surface

Luciano Darderi vs Francisco Comesana Tips

🏆 Best Bet: Comesana +5.5 Games

  • Don't mind a sneaky little punt on Comesana covering here - the Argentine has raised his level for slams before and I'm not totally convinced yet with Darderi, especially when he's a big favourite
  • Comesana has twice made the third round of a major, taking two top 20 scalps in those runs
  • Darderi gave up 11 break points vs Ofner in his RG opener, while he's lost matches by heavy scores during this clay swing, including 6-0 6-3 vs De Minaur & 6-1 6-1 vs Ruud - that makes the +5.5 spread look appealing here
  • Comesana has covered a +5.5 line in four of his last five slam matches and was a straight sets winner over the solid Ethan Quinn in R1 - he looks in pretty good touch coming into this one
