Mirra Andreeva vs Maja Chwalinska Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Into their first first Grand Slam final, Mirra Andreeva and Maja Chwalinska square off for the 2026 Roland Garros women's singles title on Saturday in Paris.

After a tough period, Andreeva is well and truly back. The teenage sensation, still just 19 years of age, has compiled a 22-3 record on clay this season and has surged into her maiden major final for the loss of just one set. After picking up two WTA 1000 titles in Indian Wells and Dubai last year, Andreeva is now looking to make that next step and land a first piece of Grand Slam silverware - and she's the deserved favourite against an opponent even a lot of die-hard tennis fans wouldn't have heard of two weeks ago.

Chwalinska's run is absolutely incredible. Simply historic, with the World No. 114 emulating Emma Raducanu's run to the 2021 US Open final as the only two players in the Open Era to reach a Grand Slam title match from qualifying. Indeed, Chwalinska's tournament began almost three weeks ago and she's rode a tidal wave of momentum all the way to the final, winning nine matches and dropping four bagel sets along the way. Before this tournament, Chwalinska had only registered three-tour level victories in her entire career - now she's taken three top 30 scalps, but this will be her ever meeting with a top 10 opponent.

It's a brilliant contrast in styles. Andreeva has the firepower and champions mentality, while Chwalinska's tennis IQ is off the charts, with the Pole making up for a lack of power with astute court craft, tremendous shot variety and outstanding anticipation.

In a tournament full of surprises, Chwalinska completing the fairytale and going all the way wouldn't be such a big shock - and priced around $4.00 with top Australian bookmakers, I was tempted. But I just can't go against Andreeva in this sort of form - she absolutely pummelled an on-fire Marta Kostyuk in the semi-finals and hasn't lost more than three games in 12 of the 13 sets she's played this tournament.

I think Andreeva in this form can handle the different spins and variety Chwalinska throws at her. Also a decent chance the Pole finally freezes on the biggest stage too. I'm backing Under 20.5 total games, with Andreeva covering a -5.5 handicap - a 6-3 6-3 win or better would suffice. Also have to run back the Chwalinska Under 0.5 aces prop, which just keeps landing.
  • Andreeva has won 22 of her 25 matches on clay this season
  • Chwalinska is facing a top 10 player for the first time
  • Chwalinska has seen Under 0.5 aces in 16 of her last 20 matches
  • Andreeva has kept opponents to three games or less in 12 of her 13 sets this tournament
  • Andreeva has seen Under 20.5 games in five of her last six matches
  • Chwalinska has seen Under 20.5 games in five of her nine matches this tournament
  • Chwalinska is the first qualifier in the Open Era to make the Roland Garros final
  • Andreeva is the third-youngest Roland Garros finalist this century

Andreeva vs Chwalinska Head To Head

This will be the first career meeting between the pair.

Mirra Andreeva Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 35-9
  • French Open Record: 17-3
  • Current Ranking: No. 8
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 5 (July 2025)

Andreeva has been in destructive form all tournament, dropping just the one set and barely losing games in most matches. The 19-year-old has been in strong form all clay swing, picking up the title in Linz and reaching the final in Madrid.

Road to Roland Garros Final

RoundResult
First Rounddef. Fiona Ferro 6-3, 6-3
Second Rounddef. Marina Bassols Ribera 3-6, 6-1, 6-1
Third Rounddef. [27] Marie Bouzková 6-3, 6-2
Fourth Rounddef. Jil Teichmann 6-3, 6-2
Quarter-finaldef. [18] Sorana Cîrstea 6-0, 6-3
Semi-finaldef. [15] Marta Kostyuk 6-1, 6-3

As you can see, dropping the first set against Marina Bassols Ribera in the second round has been the only blip for Andreeva all tournament.

She crushed an in-form Sorana Cirstea for the loss of just three games in the quarter-finals before snapping the 17-match winning streak of Marta Kostyuk in the semi-finals, losing only four games.

"Now I feel like I'm getting closer, I'm getting older, a little bit more mature every match I play, a little bit more experience," Andreeva said as she targets a maiden major crown.

Maja Chwalinska Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 8-1
  • French Open Record: 6-0
  • Current Ranking: No. 114
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 113 (May 2026)

Chwalinska's run is probably the most extraordinary in Open Era history. While Raducanu obviously went all the way at the 2021 US Open, the Brit was an emerging talent and made the fourth round of Wimbledon that year. Chwalinska meanwhile had won just three tour-level matches in her career before this tournament, with the 24-year-old also taking an extended break from the sport to deal with mental health problems.

The Pole has been on fire over the last three weeks, delivering four bagel sets on her way to a historic final.

Road to Roland Garros Final

RoundResult
Qualifying First Rounddef. Alice Rame 6-0, 6-3
Qualifying Second Rounddef. Carole Monnet 6-0, 6-1
Qualifying Final Rounddef. Suzan Lamens 7-6(4), 7-5
First Rounddef. Qinwen Zheng 6-4, 6-0
Second Rounddef. [23] Elise Mertens 6-4, 6-0
Third Rounddef. Maria Sakkari 1-6, 6-3, 6-2
Fourth Rounddef. Diane Parry 6-3, 6-2
Quarter-finaldef. [22] Anna Kalinskaya 7-6(3), 6-3
Semi-finaldef. [25] Diana Shnaider 7-6(4), 6-4

Chwalinska has defeated three top 30 players, along with Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng and former World No. 3 and major semi-finalist Maria Sakkari.

Even more impressively, Chwalinska has lost just one set all tournament. After grinding Anna Kalinskaya into submission, Chwalinska repeated that effort against another Russian opponent in Diana Shnaider, winning the first set in a tiebreak before keeping her composure in the second to close out the match.

"It's like a dream, honestly," Chwalinska said in her on-court interview. "I don't know what's going on. I don't know what to say. I'm just very happy."

Currently ranked No. 114 in the world, Chwalinska is on the verge of a top 20 debut when the new rankings get released on Monday. Incredibly, if she doesn't receive a wildcard, Chwalinska will have to play qualifying again at Wimbledon.
