Elina Svitolina vs Anna Bondar Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Elina Svitolina arrives at Roland Garros in the form of her career, but she faces a tricky opening round assignment in the form of Anna Bondar on Monday.
Svitolina has put together a brilliant 28-7 record in 2026 and is coming off winning one of the biggest titles of her career in Rome, where she conquered Elena Rybakina, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff back-to-back-to-back to emerge triumphant.
However, Svitolina has been handed one of her toughest possible opening round draws. Bondar has beaten the World No. 7 in the last two meetings and is playing the best tennis of her career after a solid swing swing heading into Roland Garros - including toppling Svitolina in Madrid.
Bondar also famously defeated Svitolina in the first round of last year's US Open - ending the Ukrainian's 22-match winning streak in the first round of Grand Slams. Quite clearly Bondar has the game to give Svitolina nightmares and the pressure is all on the seventh seed.
I'm taking Bondar to cover a rather large +5.5 games line and to push this opening round contest Over 19.5 total games.
Svitolina vs Bondar Stats & Trends
- Svitolina has seen Over 19.5 games in her last three matches
- Bondar has seen Over 19.5 games in her last five completed matches
- Svitolina has seen Over 19.5 games in three of her last four Roland Garros matches
- Svitolina has gone 15-1 vs players outside the top 50 in 2026 (only loss vs Bondar)
- Bondar has a 1-2 record vs top 10 players
- Svitolina has a 22-1 record in her last 23 Grand Slam R1 matches (only loss vs Bondar)
- Svitolina has never lost in R1 of Roland Garros
- Bondar has won four of her last six Grand Slam R1 matches
Svitolina vs Bondar Head To Head
Level at 2-2. Svitolina won the opening two encounters before Bondar returned serve with two big victories at the US Open and Madrid. All four meetings have ended in straight sets.

Elina Svitolina Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 28-7
- French Open Record: 34-14
- Current Ranking: No. 7
- Career-High Ranking: No. 3 (2027)
It's been an incredibly consistent season for Svitolina, who has firmly established herself back amongst the best players in the world.
Svitolina has won two WTA titles in Auckland and Rome, along with a runner-up finish in Dubai and semi-finals at the Australian Open, Indian Wells and Stuttgart.
The Ukrainian was on fire at her last event in Rome, surging to the WTA 1000 title with three huge victories over Rybakina, Swiatek and Gauff, winning all three matches in a deciding set.
Svitolina will be hoping to make it past the quarter-final stage for the first time at Roland Garros, losing all five previous last-eight matches.
Anna Bondar Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 16-13
- French Open Record: 1-3
- Current Ranking: No. 57
- Career-High Ranking: No. 50 (2022)
Bondar is close to eclipsing her career-high ranking of No. 50, which was achieved four years ago, following a solid season heading into the second major of the year.
The 28-year-old struggled at the start of the season, failing to win back-to-back matches from the Australian Open through to Miami.
However, Bondar has picked things up during the clay swing, reaching the quarter-finals in Rouen and Rabat, along with R16 finishes in Madrid and Charleston, beating Svitolina in the former and pushing Mirra Andreeva to a final-set tiebreak.
The Hungarian has won her last two slam R1 matches, including conquering Svitolina at last year's US Open. She will be aiming for another upset here and just her second main draw win at Roland Garros.
