The Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained stayer now returns to handicap conditions for the $5 million Caulfield Cup, where a lighter weight of 52.5kg should play to his advantage.
His recent form suggests he’s peaking at the right time for the 2400m test.
Adding an international flavour to this year’s edition is Meydaan (barrier 5), a UK-based galloper prepared by Simon & Ed Crisford.
The gelding has been placed in Group 3 company at his past two starts in England, both over this distance, and arrives with proven staying credentials.
Royal Supremacy (barrier 6), a five-year-old who claimed The Metropolitan at Randwick, adds further depth to the local contingent.
