Australasian Oaks 2024 Barrier Draw & Final Field

The Australasian Oaks is one two Group 1's contested at Morphettville on Saturday, April 27, with this 2000m three-year-old fillies event running alongside the Robert Sangster Stakes.
Wings Of Song (barrier 9) continues to progress, with the Patrick Payne-trained filly having won her last six races and that streak started in a BM58 at Benalla on December 16.
A terrifc Tasmanian prep followed, which included four victories in the 1600m-2100m range and she was given a short break after taking out the Tasmanian Oaks in late February.
The Group 3 Auraria Stakes is the traditional lead-up to this Group 1 and off a brilliant two length win on return in that 1800m feature, Wings Of Song headed a competitive early market for the 2024 Australasian Oaks
Pulchritudinous (barrier 7) is an interesting galloper, with the last start New Zealand Oaks winner now under the care of Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott after being purchased by Yu Long Investments.
The three-year-old has won her last two attempts at stakes level and she did work through the line well via a Randwick trial on April 15.
Concello (barrier 6) has been a big mover in the Australasian Oaks futures market, with the Chris Waller-trained filly bringing strong Sydney form lines, having finished third in the Adrian Knox Stakes last start and that 2000m event produced the subsequent Australian Oaks winner (Autumn Angel).
Chris Waller is aiming for his third victory in the Australasian Oaks, having prepared Egg Tart (2017) and Toffee Tongue (2020) to win previous editions and James McDonald takes the ride on Concello.
Coco Sun (barrier 4) was a stakes winning two-year-old in Adelaide last season and she's unbeaten in two outings this campaign, which includes a three-length victory against older rivals last start at Bendigo.
Another in-form Victorian visitor is Vibrant Sun (barrier 12), a filly who arrives to the Australasian Oaks off a Group 3 triumph in the Alexandra Stakes on March 23.

Australasian Oaks Winners
The Australasian Oaks is one of two heradline acts on the first Group 1 meeting of the Adelaide Autumn Carnival, with this 2000m fillies feature running alongside the Robert Sangster Stakes.
The first ever running of the Australasian Oaks in 1982 produced Rose of Kingston, the eventual Australian Horse of The Year.
This race has produced successful mares including Zarita, Lights of Heaven, May's Dream and Anamato, with the latter being the dam of current day champion - Anamoe.
Media Award (2021), Glint Of Hope (2022) and Affaire A Suivre (2023) have won the last three editions of the Australasian Oaks.
