The All Aged Stakes headlines the final day of the Sydney Autumn Carnival and this famous Group 1 received a big prize money increase in 2023, with the 1400m feature now worth $1.5 million (up from $600,000).

Briasa (barrier 4) arrives third-up after winning the TJ Smith Stakes and he's aiming to become the fourth horse to complete a TJ Smith/All Aged Stakes double, with Trapeze Artist (2018) was the last galloper to achieve this.

He's built an impressive record, with seven wins and two unlucky defeats from nine starts, while the grey proved his WFA credentials in the recent 1200m victory.

Jimmysstar (barrier 6) has been unsuited in two Group 1 attempts following an Oakleigh Plate triumph and two of his last four victories have come over 1400m.

The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper also placed over 1600m last autumn, so while there's no queries on him at this longer distance, he's often been more effective when prepared on the fresh side.

While she's mostly been kept at sprint trips over the last 12 months, Joliestar (barrier 9) could be looking for more ground going off her most recent performance in the TJ Smith Stakes.

Her first Group 1 triumph came over 1600m via the 2023 Thousand Guineas.

Broadsiding (barrier 3) comes back to 1400m after taking out the Rosehill Guineas (2000m) on March 22 and the Godolphin colt has won his last three attempts over this distance.

His three-year-old form reads well, with Aeliana bolting in with the Australian Derby and he completed a tick-over trial on April 7.

Magic Time (barrier 7) won the 2024 All Aged Stakes following a midfield finish in the TJ Smith Stakes and the Grahame Begg-trained mare is looking to follow a similar pattern this year.

She won the Group 2 Expressway Stakes on return and the five-year-old was a month between runs in the TJ Smith Stakes after a third-of-eleven finish second-up in the Canterbury Stakes.

Kimochi (barrier 10) won a strong edition of the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes when rounding her spring campaign, with Another Wil, Southport Tycoon, Climbing Star, Gentleman Roy and Jimmysstar among the beaten brigade in that 1400m feature.

After an eye-catching 1000m return via the Challenge Stakes, Kimochi was brave second-up when covering ground in the TJ Smith Stakes.

All Aged Stakes Winners

The All Aged Stakes dates all the way back to 1865 and has many of Australia's best ever gallopers as winners on its honor roll.

These early champions include Carbine, Wakeful, Ajax (only horse to have won three All Aged Stakes), Bernborough and Tulloch whilst some of the more recent notable victors are Rough Habit, Sunline and Atlantic Jewel.

The Group 1 All Aged Stakes was run over the mile at Royal Randwick up until 2004 when it was dropped to 1400 metres to suit those sprinters coming from the TJ Smith Stakes (1200 metres) and to also blend in with the short-course landscape of Australian racing.

Cascadian (2022), Giga Kick (2023) and Magic Time (2024) have won the last three editions of the All Aged Stakes.
