Carlton vs Fremantle AFL Round 24 Tips - Dockers to flex muscles against Blues
Ladder leaders Fremantle take on a revitalized Carlton in AFL Round 24, 2026 at Marvel Stadium. Despite Carlton's impressive rise under Josh Fraser, experts predict Fremantle will halt their run, thanks to their dominant stoppage work and attacking power. Expect a high-scoring contest—both teams average over 190 points in recent games at Marvel. Watch for Josh Treacy to kick 3+ goals and Sam Walsh to continue his stellar ball-winning against the Dockers. Key recommendation: Fremantle to win, with total match points likely exceeding averages.

- Carlton vs Fremantle AFL 2026 Round 24 FAQ’s
Carlton will cop a reality check when they take on ladder leaders Fremantle at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.
It has been a stunning rise by the Blues, who have won 10 and drawn one of their 13 matches under Josh Fraser and are safely in the wildcard zone after last weekend's draw with the Western Bulldogs. A win could potentially secure them a home final, while Fremantle will finish on top of the ladder regardless of the result.
There is little reason for Fremantle to take their foot off the pedal ahead of September and they can put an end to Carlton's remarkable run. The Dockers have won 19 of 22 matches this season and demonstrated their ability to absorb pressure before overpowering Adelaide last weekend. Their stoppage work improved as that game progressed and they eventually overwhelmed the Crows with a weight of inside 50s, which will be important against a Carlton side that has thrived on playing with speed and freedom.
There should be plenty of points at Marvel Stadium. Carlton are averaging 113 points across their past four matches, all at the venue, while the total points in their past five at Marvel has averaged more than 190. Fremantle's past two matches have both produced 200+ points and the total in their past seven away matches has averaged 192, so expect both sides to attack the game.
Josh Treacy can benefit from that open style and kick 3+ goals. He took 11 marks against Adelaide last weekend despite finishing with 1.4 and has kicked three or more in his past two meetings with Carlton. Sam Walsh should also see plenty of the ball after recording 25+ disposals in six consecutive matches, while his record against Fremantle is outstanding, averaging 34 across his past six meetings and reaching 30+ in five of them.
- The total points in Carlton’s past five matches at Marvel Stadium has averaged over 190.
- The total points in Fremantle’s last two matches has been 200+.
- Sam Walsh has averaged 34 disposals in his past six matches against the Dockers
- Josh Treacy has kicked 3+ goals in his past two matches against the Blues.
Head to Head Stats
Fremantle have taken out the past two matches between the two sides, which have both been at Perth Stadium. The Blues won the three prior to that and have claimed the past two at Marvel.
Standout player performances in the recent head to heads have come from;
- Sam Walsh (Blues)- averaging 34 disposals in his past six matches against the Dockers, hitting 30+ in five of those.
- Jordan Clark (Freo)- 25+ disposals in his past four against the Blues.
- Patrick Cripps (Blues)- 30+ in his past two against the Dockers.
- Jye Amiss (Freo)- three goals in each of his past two matches against the Blues.
- Josh Treacy (Freo)- three goals in each of his past two matches against the Blues.
Carlton Form Analysis
Carlton have now won 10 and drawn one of their 13 matches since Josh Fraser took over, with last weekend's draw against the Western Bulldogs enough to cement their place in the finals. Their turnaround has been built around a much more potent attacking game and they are averaging 113 points across their past four matches, all at Marvel Stadium.
There continues to be an excellent spread of contributors. Will Hayward kicked three goals against the Bulldogs, with Harry McKay and Francis Evans adding two each. McKay has eight goals across the past three rounds, giving the Blues an imposing target inside 50.
Their midfield is also in excellent touch, with Sam Walsh, Patrick Cripps, Blake Acres and George Hewett all collecting 30+ disposals last weekend. Walsh has recorded 25+ in six consecutive matches, Cripps has reached that mark in four of his past five and Hewett has had 24+ in five straight.
Fremantle Form Analysis
Fremantle have won 19 of their 22 matches and will finish the home and away season on top of the ladder after beating Adelaide by 24 points last weekend. The Dockers were tested by the Crows but regained their physical edge and eventually took control through their stoppage work and weight of forward entries.
The Dockers have played at Marvel Stadium just once this season, defeating the Western Bulldogs by 12 points. They are 8-3 outside Western Australia this season, although that record drops to 2-2 in Victoria. Their past seven away matches have produced an average combined score of 192 points.
Jye Amiss kicked five goals against Adelaide, while Josh Treacy took 11 marks but finished with 1.4. Caleb Serong collected 29 disposals and kicked two goals, while Andrew Brayshaw had 27 touches and has now reached 25+ in seven of his past 10 matches.

Verdict
Fremantle have been the benchmark this season and can end Carlton's brilliant run, but expect the Blues to make them work for it at Marvel Stadium. Take the Dockers head to head, with the attacking form of both sides making the total points over another strong play. Josh Treacy 3+ goals and Sam Walsh 30+ disposals complete the selections.
