Gold Coast Suns Betting Tips, Odds & Latest News

The Gold Coast entered the AFL competition in 2011 and it hasn't been easy for Suns fans since their inception.

Playing and training from a state of the art facility at Carrara and entering a third year under coach Stewart Dew, Gold Coast will field mainly a young and developing team in 2020 where as a result of bottom of the ladder finishes, they get access to the best youth in Australia courtesy of the AFL Draft.

Gold Coast Suns History

The Gold Coast Suns arrived on the scene in 2011 with a bang by signing the best player in the competition in Gary Ablett Jr to a five-year contract worth $9 million dollars.

Notching up a Brownlow Medal in 2013 along with four Club Champion Awards, Ablett excelled in his prime years at the Gold Coast Suns but consistently lacked support which was evident in 2014 where after looking as though they could reach the finals, they lost six out of their last seven games following a season-ending injury to their star player.

With Ablett now having returned to Geelong as well losing many other important players over their short history, player retention has been a big problem at the Gold Coast who have finished in the bottom 4 in each of their last five seasons.

Under captains David Swallow and Jarrod Witts along with experienced Richmond recruit in Brandon Ellis, they will be looking to blood highly rated youngsters in 2020 which include the 2019 Number 1 and 2 draft picks in Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson who join Jack Lukosius, Ben King and Izak Rankine as promising selections from the 2018 draft.

For those that fancy a roughie, a massive $251 is available with BetEasy for the Gold Coast Suns to win the 2020 AFL Premiership who also have them quoted at $17 to finish in the Top 8.
