Tiafoe has been incredibly consistent this season and he's set to be rewarded with a spot back inside the top 20 - and if he can continue his run in Cincinnati and win the tournament (which is a genuine possibility in this field), then he'd be on the brink of the top 10.

I think the American can at least advance into the semi-finals. Big Foe loves playing in Cincinnati - he was a finalist at this tournament two years ago, where he beat Musetti along the way. Jiri Lehecka, Hubert Hurkacz and Holger Rune were also among his scalps that year.

Coming off a straight sets dispatch of Felix Auger-Aliassime, this is a great opportunity for Tiafoe to continue his run. Musetti has been plagued by injuries for large chunks of the year and the Italian remains unconvincing in my eyes.

Indeed, Musetti hasn't defeated a top 25 player since the Australian Open in January. He just hasn't got back to his best level and while he may be close to it, Tiafoe should have the advantage on a faster surface - as illustrated the H2H. Musetti has been struck down by adductor, arm and thigh injuries throughout this season, but has still managed to maintain a top 20 ranking.

It goes without saying it's been a challenging season - Musetti hit a career-high ranking of No. 5 after finishing runner-up in Hong Kong and reaching the Australian Open quarter-finals before the start of his injury issues.

Since then and before arriving in Cincinnati, the Italian had made just two more quarter-finals for the year in Barcelona and Washington.

Musetti is enjoying his best run since January in Cincinnati, where he's won all three of his matches in straight sets over Daniel Altmaier, Michael Zheng and Jaime Faria - however, none of those players are ranked in the top 60.

The American picked up the ATP 500 title in Halle and also finished runner-up in Acapulco, along with reaching the fourth round at Roland Garros and third rounds at Wimbledon and the Australian Open, highlighting his improved consistency.

After a quarter-final run in Miami earlier in the season, Tiafoe is back playing some good tennis at a North American hardcourt Masters 1000 event in Cincinnati.

The 28-year-old started his campaign with a 6-3 6-4 win over Lorenzo Sonego before edging out countryman Learner Tien in three, 6-4 4-6 6-4. Tiafoe then produced a superb performance to knock out second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3 6-4 to return to the Cincinnati quarter-finals.
