Flavio Cobolli and Tommy Paul meet in the ATP Cincinnati quarter-finals after both winning three-set battles in earlier rounds. Cobolli, currently ranked higher and holding a 1-0 head-to-head edge over Paul, comes into the match with strong momentum and more firepower this season. The prediction leans towards another tight, lengthy battle, with value on Cobolli to cover a +2.5 games start and possibly win outright. Both players’ recent form suggests a match going over 22.5 games. Fans can catch the match live on Unibet with some regional restrictions.

Flavio Cobolli vs Tommy Paul ATP Cincinnati Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

The six combined matches of Flavio Cobolli and Tommy Paul in Cincinnati have gone to a deciding set. Backing that trend to continue in this quarter-final showdown, with the higher-ranked Cobolli holding value with a +2.5 start and H2H winner.

Cobolli and Paul have been marathon men at this year's Cincinnati Masters, with both players advancing into the quarter-finals following a trio of three-set victories. Cobolli came back from a set down to conquer the in-form Rafael Jodar in his previous round, while Paul saved a match point and recovered from a 2-4 deficit in the deciding set to take the scalp of top seed Alexander Zverev.

At the time of writing, only Taylor Fritz has previously won a Masters 1000 title of the men remaining in the Cincinnati draw - and with the winner of this match to face either Arthur Fils or Thiago Agustin Tirante in the semi-finals, Cobolli and Paul know they might never get a better chance to win one of these titles.

It sets up what should be a cracking contest and I can't really split the pair - which means Cobolli offers the value. The Italian has been the better player over the course of the season and has probably just a little more firepower and explosiveness than Paul, who is more of an all-round athletic player.

I think another long match is in prospect, with Cobolli covering a +2.5 start and looking good for the outright win.
  • Cobolli has won 13 of his last 18 matches
  • Cobolli has a 4-2 record in quarter-final matches this season
  • Cobolli has won five of his last six matches vs top 25 players
  • Cobolli has seen Over 22.5 games in his last four matches
  • Paul has won 16 of his last 22 matches
  • Paul has seen Over 22.5 games in five of his last six matches
  • Paul has a 5-1 record in quarter-finals this season (one defeat was one Masters 1000 QF)
  • Paul has won his last three matches vs top 10 players

Cobolli vs Paul Head To Head

Cobolli leads 1-0, winning their only previous clash in three sets - also in Cincinnati - back in 2024.

Flavio Cobolli Form Analysis

  • 2026 ATP Record: 30-17
  • ATP Cincinnati Record: 5-2
  • Current Ranking: No. 10
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 9 (July 2026)

It's been a tremendous season for Cobolli - he could probably still work on his consistency from week to week, but you can't argue with a Grand Slam final and top 10 debut.

Cobolli's best results have been winning the ATP 500 title in Acapulco, reaching his maiden major final at Roland Garros, finishing runner-up in Munich and advancing to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.

The Italian didn't have the best start to his summer in North America, losing his opening match in Montreal to Yannick Hanfmann.

However, Cobolli has recaptured some of his best tennis in Cincinnati, reaching the quarter-finals of a Masters 1000 tournament for the second time after Madrid earlier this year.

All three of Cobolli's wins have come in three sets, starting with Miomir Kecmanovic (6-1 4-6 6-3) and Alexander Blockx (7-5 4-6 7-5). Cobolli then recovered from making 42 unforced errors across his opening two sets against Rafael Jodar, ultimately beating the in-form teenager 4-6 7-6(3) 6-3.

Tommy Paul Form Analysis

  • 2026 ATP Record: 36-15
  • ATP Cincinnati Record: 9-7
  • Current Ranking: No. 24
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 8 (2025)

It's been a pretty consistent season for Paul and he probably deserves to be ranked higher than his current mark of No. 24.

A 1-3 record in finals has cost Paul a current top 20 ranking - he managed to win the 250 in Houston, but finished runner-up at Queens, Delray Beach and Hamburg.

Paul got married after Wimbledon and it was a slow return to action, losing his opening match in Washington to Kamil Majchrzak and second match in Montreal to Learner Tien.

The American has battled hard to get back to his best tennis in Cincinnati and been rewarded with a spot in the quarter-finals.

After a 6-4 6-7(3) 6-3 win over Hubert Hurkacz and 3-6 6-3 6-4 victory over Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, Paul recorded the 16th top 10 win of his career by taking out top seed Alexander Zverev 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 in the R16.

Paul saved a match point at 5-6 in the second set tiebreak and came back from 2-4 down in the third to move into the Cincinnati quarter-finals for the first time.
